Koretzky is still on a roll and also wins the XCC at Snowshoe
Koretzky wins the Snowshoe XCC after a last lap attack that no one could replicate. The Frenchman measured well and waited for the right moment to make a move that earned him his fourth consecutive victory. Sarrou and Schwarzbauer came after him, ahead of Dascalu and Aldridge, who tried his luck at the end.
Koretzy extends his reign and wins Snowshoe XCC
The race had a clean start. The time difference did not alter the script seen so many times this season: Schwarzbauer at the front. The German took the start without even conceding the first meters. First before the first corner. Schurter, Koretzky and De Froindmont right behind.
The start loop came to an end and Koretzky went to the front to show that he is in exceptional form. The riders were still in a pack in which there were hardly any differences. Schwarzbauer, Schurter, Sarrou and Fluckiger were just the first of a long list of chasers lining up behind the Frenchman.

Everything was up in the air. The tiny margin that separated one from the other gave a hint that some riders preferred to save part of their strength.
Schwarzbauer again. Koretzky, Sarrou and Schurter went with him, while the rest of the field dropped out of his wake and gave up a few meters. However, the newly created group came to nothing when Aldridge, Fini, Dascalu and Dubau gave chase.
Penultimate lap. The riders had entered the crucial moment of the race: from this point on, the attacks could do some damage. Even so, the equality that could be perceived in the legs of all the riders at the front suggested that the outcome could be delayed until the final sprint.
Schurter gave way and Schwarzbauer led with an iron fist ahead of Koretzky, Sarrou, Aldridge and Dascalu, who remained intact behind the German's wheel.
Last lap. Aldridge's attack. The young Briton plucked up his courage and attempted a feat that was quickly put down. Moments of pause. Tense calm. Koretzy's turn. The Frenchman's move was more fruitful and he managed to open some gaps in the leading group.
The chasers seemed destined to suffer a loss of seconds, but Sarrou found some strength where there didn't seem to be any left. The Frenchman pedaled hard to catch his compatriot and managed to close the gap to the lead. Still, Koretzky found enough watts to move the pedals with the same intensity as Sarrou and held off the counterattack.
Koretzky crossed the finish line in first position and won the Snowshoe XCC. Fourth consecutive victory -third in World Cup; second in Short Track- that confirms him as the rider of the moment. Sarrou and Schwarzbauer completed the podium.
Dascalu finished fourth. Special mention for Aldridge, who withstood the push of the best throughout the race and was strong enough to try an attack at the start of the last lap.
