Pauline Ferrand Prevot wins the World Short Track Championship 2022
With a starting line full of absentees, such as Loana Lecomte and Jenny Rissveds, and the rain making an appearance on the circuit, the second edition of the Short Track World Championship started.
The first surprise was to see Great Britain's Evie Richards sprinting to take the lead alongside compatriot Annie Last and move into the front of the race ahead of the big Swiss team.

During the first 3 laps, the race would be a total of 9 laps, in the head of the race we could see several relays with the Swiss Alessandra Keller, the French Pauline Ferrand Prevot or the Italian Greta Seiwald.
Halfway through the race, Britain's Annie Last was still in the lead, surprising everyone, but the group remained together without any major attacks.
During lap 6 the race suffered one of the most important losses when Swiss rider Alessandra Keller fell in one of the rock gardens and was out of contention for the win.
A little further on, Pauline Ferrand Prevot made her move and on the first climb of lap 7 launched an attack that neither could stop. Only Annie Last and Greta Seiwald were fighting to close the gap, but the British rider also crashed, just in the same place as Keller had done on the previous lap.
After these crashes, Pauline Ferrand Prevot started the last lap with almost 30 seconds advantage over the rest. But the race was still going on behind, and Switzerland's Alessandra Keller made an impossible comeback to take second place.
France's Pauline Ferrand Prevot arrived at the finish line as the new Short Track World Champion. Alessandra Keller took the silver medal and Gwendalyn Gibson the bronze.
