Red Bull wants Evenepoel and Van Aert at BORA for 2025
The landing of Red Bull as the largest owner of BORA-Hansgrohe promised to revolutionize the peloton and, according to several German media, they are on track to meet expectations. The reports suggest that the team wants to approach the signings of Remco Evenepoel and Wout Van Aert for the next season.
Red Bull prepares the machinery to seduce Evenepoel and Van Aert for 2025
The arrival of Red Bull -as owner of 51% of the current BORA-Hansgrohe- has been one of the most talked about news this winter in the cycling world. Waiting for the Austrian competition judicial authority to give the green light to the alliance later this month, rumors about the movements that the new sponsor wants to carry out are circulating faster and faster.
The appearance of Red Bull on the cycling scene is a breath of fresh air for the sport and an attempt to replace the hegemony imposed by Visma-Lease a Bike and the huge budgets of teams like UAE Team Emirates or Ineos Grenadiers. The good work of the bull brand in other disciplines suggests that the bet on cycling could end in another successful experience.

The team's plans are kept in discreet silence, although media such as the German news agency DPA suggest that the immediate future of the new formation goes through the hiring of Evenepoel and Van Aert for the next season in 2025.
Despite both having contracts in force with their teams until 2026 -Evenepoel with Soudal-Quick Step and Van Aert with Visma-Lease a Bike- the operation could become a reality. On one hand, money should be the least of the problems for a giant brand that invests huge amounts of bills in its sponsorships.
On the other hand, there are interesting links that could facilitate the signings: Van Aert wears the red bull on his helmet as one of the riders that Red Bull sponsors individually; while Evenepoel maintains a close relationship with Specialized, a bike manufacturer that supplies material to Soudal-Quick Step and also to BORA.
If the intentions are confirmed and the team gets the signatures of two of the most coveted riders in the peloton, the squad would add some luxury soldiers after the signing of Primoz Roglic and would raise the level of the formation to the height of the greats.
This information gained strength when Red Bull's CEO, Oliver Mintzlaff, declared that the team will be rebuilt from 2025. In addition, the reports also indicate that the team is preparing a new jersey in which the Red Bull logo will be displayed and will be presented on the eve of this season's Tour.
The BORA-Hansgrohe 2024 started rolling yesterday in the Santos Tour Down Under and inaugurated the season in the best way with the victory of Sam Welsford in the first stage. The team is in a sweet moment considering the objectives that can be set now that they have a sponsorship of the size of Red Bull.
The successes that the beverage brand has achieved in other sports allow to dream big. If Red Bull is a company known worldwide that sells a whopping 11.5 billion cans a year it is -in part- thanks to its involvement in sports. It seems clear that the arrival to cycling will be marked by the usual ambition with which they usually face this type of projects.
Red Bull has managed to be one of the reference teams in Formula-1 -just signed a dream season with the almighty Max Verstappen- and is present in MotoGP, in football, in ice hockey and in eSports, among others. Beyond cycling, it also sponsors athletes such as, for example, Marc Márquez, Carlos Sainz, Juan Lebrón or Neymar.
