Pogačar set to return to racing in November after missing the World Championships and European Championships
Tadej Pogačar will put on a race number again on November 29, three months after the serious fall he suffered in the Vuelta a España. The Slovenian has confirmed his participation in the charity criterium BeKing in Monaco, where he will reappear alongside his partner, Urška Žigart, who has also been sidelined from competition due to an injury.
Pogačar now has a date for his return after the accident in the Vuelta a España
This will be the first time Pogačar participates in a race since August 29, when a fall during the eighth stage of the Vuelta a España, which he was leading with authority, caused him a clavicle fracture, an injury to the cervical vertebra C7, and a concussion.
The accident prematurely ended his season and prevented him from defending his titles at the World Championship in Montreal and the European Championship. In fact, Pogačar considered competing in the European Championship in his country, but ultimately the UAE Team Emirates-XRG decided to prioritize his recovery.
A return in a race he has already won
The reappearance will take place at BeKing, a charity event initiated by Matteo Trentin in 2021 that brings together professional and amateur cyclists on the streets of Monaco. Pogačar already knows what it is like to win there. In 2024, he triumphed solo in an edition that had to be shortened due to bad weather conditions.

Although BeKing is not a WorldTour calendar event, his participation will allow fans to see the Slovenian in a competitive environment before the year ends. His true return to high-level competition will have to wait until the 2027 season, for which he has not yet announced his calendar.
