Pogacar reveals his new World Champion kit, with matching bike

Just yesterday we were wondering why we hadn't seen Tadej Pogacar in the colors that identify him as the current World Champion after his feat in Zurich 2024, just a day before his next race, the Giro dell'Emilia, where he will have to wear the rainbow jersey, the new outfit of the Slovenian and the design that Colnago has prepared for his V4Rs are finally revealed.

It has been eagerly awaited, but we now know the design that Pissei, the Italian brand supplying clothing for the UAE Team Emirates, has prepared for Tadej Pogacar, integrating all the team's sponsors' logos into the rainbow jersey in accordance with the strict design rules set by the UCI for the garment that identifies the current World Champion in cycling.

A jersey made in Italy by Pissei and in which, in addition to the logos of the different sponsors, other details have been included such as rainbow stripes also on the sleeves, something optional in the design according to UCI rules, or a small detail with the name of Tadej Pogacar and the date 29/09/24 on the back to remember the exact day of the UAE cyclist's exhibition.

Another of the usual doubts among those who have won this title in recent years is also revealed. In fact, Tadej Pogacar himself sparked the debate by asking his followers on social media "White shorts or black shorts?". Traditionally, white color in cycling shorts has been somewhat taboo. A color that, unless high-weight lycra is used with a perfect size fit, has the unpleasant tendency to not hide anything, so it has been systematically avoided in clothing ranges.

Furthermore, it is a color that collects all the dirt from the road, especially on rainy days. We also cannot ignore that purists claim that the only possible color for this garment is black, even that it should not have any type of text or design.

In this first design presented today, the chosen shorts option is black, although there is also the possibility of white shorts as Pissei showed on their social media. Shorts that, like the sleeves of the jersey, also feature rainbow bands on the legs.

The set would not be complete without a matching Colnago V4Rs, and obviously, the Cambiago brand has worked over the past few days to prepare a design, paint, and deliver the frame to the mechanics of the UAE Team Emirates to have the machine ready to compete in the Italian classics. A very clean and sober design, with a white base as is obvious and just subtle rainbow bands on the fork legs, top tube, and seat tube.
