More than 54,000€ for the Colnago C68 that Pogacar rode the day before the Tour

On the occasion of the start of the Tour 2024 from the Italian city of Florence, Colnago presented a very special bike of which only 111 units were made (we are in the 111th edition of the Tour) with a price of 23,000€ per unit. It is the Colnago C68 Fleur-de-Lys and the one that Pogacar used in the presentation of the race has been sold for more than 54,000€.

On June 27th, Tadej Pogacar will depart from Florence as the top favorite to win the 2024 Tour de France and he will do so on one of these Colnago C68 Fleur-de-Lys, number 1 of 111. This bike has been customized to combine some of the main symbols of Italy and France, such as the Fleur-de-Lis, a symbol of the city of Florence and very present in French heraldry.

This is how the brand explained the inspiration for this design and how exclusive the decoration is: "This pattern, in addition to being a tribute to a coat of arms recurring in French royal iconography, echoes the pattern of the frescoes of the Sala dei Gigli, one of the most beautiful rooms of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, the place for the presentation of the teams and the starting point of the first stage of the Tour."

The assembly of this Colnago C68 Fleur-de-Lys is completed with a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset, Carbon-Ti chain, a Colnago x Tour de France CeramicSpeed limited edition pulley cage, and Enve SES 4.5 wheels also in a special edition with golden spokes.

As we have already mentioned, this exclusive bike has a price of 23,000€, but the Colnago C68 Fleur-de-Lys with which Tadej Pogacar rode during the presentation of the Tour in Florence has been auctioned and its final sale price has been about 54,200€ at the exchange rate.

A bike whose value has clearly transcended the value of the object itself and is already an investment for any collector.
