Pogacar already knows where he is going to attack in Strade Bianche 2025
Cyclists are gearing up for the Strade Bianche race that will take place on Saturday, March 8th, and, as expected, all eyes are on Tadej Pogacar, who everyone considers the sure winner of the race. The bets now revolve around speculating on which point of the route the Slovenian will choose to break the race.
Tadej Pogacar is already intimidating his rivals before the 2025 Strade Bianche
Last year, when Tadej Pogacar attacked 81 kilometers from the finish line, at Monte Santa Maria, the most selective cobblestone section of the race, he surprised everyone with such audacity. Now, after his excellent 2024 season where he got us used to these displays, the question is where he will do it in this edition.

Tadej Pogacar has already done some morale-boosting work for his rivals by posting a video on social media showing him climbing the Santa Caterina wall at a simply insane pace, while Italy teammate Alberto Bettiol commented in a statement: “I hope Pogacar will attack soon on Saturday, after UAE blows everyone away in San Martino in Grania (the section of the climb that precedes Monte Santa Maria). He's capable of doing that and putting things right”.
Bettiol added: “It's the safest thing for him, he can avoid crashes, set his own pace. For the rest it will be a crazy race fighting for second place. It's not a disgrace to be behind Pogacar, when we are old and retired we can tell the kids about our career and understand how good Pogacar was.
Half-joking, half-serious words that clearly show how most of the peloton is resigned to the overwhelming superiority of Tadej Pogacar. In any case, despite all the speculation, and despite the fact that last year Pogacar explained that his plan was to attack where he did, his director, Josean Fernandez Matxin explained that the plan in the bus was to wait for Le Tolfe, 51 km from the finish.

Matxin further explains that what will happen on Saturday will depend on how the race goes. “We will make decisions depending on who is in the group and how it goes. Maybe it's better to decide the race at the end or maybe we need to move earlier.”
In any case, Matxin doesn't hide the favoritism of Tadej Pogacar “He's the best cyclist in the world. He doesn't improve 10% every year, but maybe 1%, but that percentage makes a big difference. He's a little bit better than last year. Not much, but better” as a warning of what his rivals will encounter on Saturday.
If he takes what would be his third Strade Bianche victory, Tadej Pogacar would equal the race record held by none other than Fabian Cancellara, after whom one of the race's sections is named.
