The XCO World Cup will return in two weeks to one of the most mythical venues on the calendar, and all signs point to it doing so with one of its big stars back on the grid. The organization of the event has hinted on social media at the possible return of Tom Pidcock for the Czech event, a clue that has quickly raised expectations among fans.

After the World Cup debut in South Korea, the championship will return to Europe with the classic stop in Nové Město na Moravě, one of the most beloved circuits by both riders and fans. And if there is one name especially linked to this course in recent years, it is Pidcock's.
The Brit has won every XCO race he has competed in at Nové Město. His love affair with the track began in 2020, when he was still competing in the under-23 category, and since then he has turned every appearance there into a victory. The only edition that does not appear in that sequence is 2025, the year he did not start.
In 2025, Pidcock only competed in two XCO events, the European Championship and the World Cup in Andorra, and won both
Now, although there is still no official confirmation from either the rider or his team, it has been the organization itself that has fueled the rumors with a post clearly directed at him. In the message, the event organizers spoke of "a young Brit" asking if he could race there again after recovering sooner than expected from his injury, a reference that practically assumes his participation.
The possible presence of the British rider also fits with his current schedule. After suffering an accident at the Volta a Catalunya, Pidcock had to temporarily halt his season to recover. His return came with a victory at the Tour of the Alps, and he subsequently competed in a modest Liège-Bastogne-Liège before focusing his preparation on the Tour de France, which will start on July 4.
This time frame would perfectly allow for one or more XCO World Cup events before the Tour, especially on a circuit where he has always performed at an extraordinary level.

Moreover, Pidcock's potential reappearance may not be the only major attraction in Nové Město. In recent weeks, Mathieu van der Poel has also reiterated his intention to prepare for the MTB World Championship, which will take place at the end of August in Val di Sole, opening the door for the Dutchman to also be seen at some World Cup event before that big date.
