New Oakley Aro 7: integrated lens is back in style
After several years on the market, the Oakley Aro 7, the aerodynamic option within the range of helmets from the well-known sunglasses brand, is renewed becoming a helmet for general road use and not just a model focused on triathlon as it was until now but retaining characteristics of time trial helmets.
The new Oakley Aro 7 helmet integrates an interchangeable magnetic visor
Radical change for the Oakley Aro 7. What was until now a true time trial helmet in the brand's catalog is now renewed to become an aerodynamic road model. To achieve this, of course, the first thing has been to give it a more open structure and maximize its ventilation.

A ventilation system based on generous front air intakes, a small one at the front supported by the main one placed at the front-top, clearly with aerodynamic intentions. It can also be seen how the proper air guidance has been taken into account in the shape and arrangement of the two side air intakes. Of course, the air guidance inside the helmet is carefully studied not only to expel hot air but also to obtain aerodynamic benefits.
However, it does not completely give up the qualities of its time trial predecessor and maintains the most typical characteristic of time trial helmets, which is the integrated visor, of course, with the unparalleled visual quality of the renowned Oakley Primz Road lenses, with polarization adapted to the wavelengths of light common on the road. However, there will be the option to purchase visors with Primz Low Light and Primz Road Jade lenses. A visor that attaches to the front with magnets and, as is usual in this type of helmets, we can remove and leave attached to the helmet turned upside down.
With the change of focus in this helmet, Oakley aims to make it a completely versatile model while maintaining as much as possible the aerodynamic qualities of its predecessor.
The Oakley Aro7 Road has a price of 340€ and is already available in white and black with Prizm Road lens.
