Specialized Turbo Levo 4: total renovation
Specialized has just made one of the most important presentations of its catalog, the Turbo Levo 4. This model has been the reference for years in the eMTB and with this new version, the brand has set out to redefine the technological and performance limits in the electric MTB sector.
S-Works 3.1 Motor
The heart of the Turbo Levo 4 is the powerful S-Works 3.1 motor, capable of generating up to 720 watts and 111 Nm of torque, which represents a 27% increase in maximum power compared to the previous version. This power is managed through a sophisticated system called Direct Current Injection, which ensures precise and natural power delivery, especially noticeable in extreme technical conditions. This motor delivers constant power throughout the cadence range, clearly differentiating it from other motors on the market that tend to lose efficiency at high speeds. In addition to the S-Works version, Specialized mounts a standard version of the new 3.1 motor with 101 Nm and 666 Watts for the rest of the range models.

Another great novelty of this version is its power management. The Levo 4 now includes new assistance modes among which the new AUTO stands out. A mode that will be the favorite of the vast majority of users for its accurate management and that many fans had asked the brand to implement. You can read more about our experience with it here.
GENIE Suspension
One of the main technical innovations in the Turbo Levo 4 is the GENIE suspension. This patented technology, based on a double air chamber system, offers exceptionally linear behavior during the initial 70% of the travel, allowing superior absorption of irregularities and greater control of the bike. In the final stretch, GENIE transforms into a more progressive suspension to avoid annoying stops, ensuring stability and safety in the most complicated descents.
The GENIE technology works in conjunction with the FOX FLOAT X shock co-designed with Specialized, which offers better performance, precise compression and rebound adjustments, and the option to easily switch between open and firm suspension modes.
New Carbon Frame and SWAT Storage
Specialized has leveraged over four decades of experience in bike design and development to include in this Levo 4 a new advanced carbon frame with 150 mm of rear travel and an optimized and more adjustable geometry than ever to adapt to different styles and handling conditions.
Among the most notable frame changes are the lower position of the motor, a sleeker construction in the area, new lateral battery entry, and a higher bottom bracket.
In addition, the Turbo Levo 4 incorporates for the first time in an electric mountain bike the internal SWAT storage system in the downtube. This compartment not only facilitates access to tools and spare parts but also allows quick changes between different battery capacities, from 600 Wh for greater agility to 840 Wh for extended sessions.
More Adjustable Geometry
Adjustable geometry is another key aspect of the Turbo Levo 4. Thanks to multiple available configurations, the cyclist can modify the head tube angle through cups, the bottom bracket height and the chainstay length through flipchip, allowing to completely adapt the bike to personal preferences or specific terrain needs.
With a mullet configuration, rear wheel of 27.5" and front wheel of 29", this model ensures an optimal combination of maneuverability and stability, especially on technical and challenging terrains.
More Autonomy and Ultra-Fast Charging System
Autonomy is a crucial aspect in electric mountain bikes, and the Turbo Levo 4 steps up thanks to a main battery of 840 Wh combined with an optional 280 Wh Range Extender. The brand ensures that its autonomy can reach up to 5:30 hours in Eco mode, offering a total capacity of 1,120 Wh.
In addition, Specialized offers an optional Super Charger charger of 12 amps and 700 watts, capable of recharging the battery from 0 to 80% in less than an hour, ensuring less downtime and more time on trails.
New MasterMind Display and Specialized App
The Turbo Levo 4 model comes equipped with the MasterMind system, the most advanced and large screen currently available on the market, offering clear and customizable information about the battery, assistance, ride data, and cyclist performance metrics. This system complements perfectly with the Micro Tune and Dynamic Micro Tune functions, which allow adjusting electric assistance in precise 10% increments, ensuring a tailored and efficient driving experience.
Additionally, the Specialized app adds security features such as GPS tracking through Apple Find My and remote motor lock, providing the user with an additional layer of peace of mind when leaving the bike out of sight.
