New RockShox Flight Attendant 2026: update with Launch Control and available for hardtail MTBs
RockShox has just unveiled the new generation of the Flight Attendant system. An update that brings the Launch Control technology, developed in the XCO World Cup, to any cyclist who wants to take their performance to the next level. Additionally, it can now be used on rigid MTBs or just for forks.

RockShox Flight Attendant with Launch Control
The Flight Attendant electronic suspension system is capable of reading the terrain and pedal power of each cyclist to continuously and automatically adjust the suspension mode. But there was a race situation where the system could be optimized: the start. This is a very specific situation where the system starts from zero, without current information, and at the same time is one of the key moments in competition, so a special mode needed to be created.

According to the brand, the new Launch Control was literally developed the night before the 2023 XCO World Cup in Lenzerheide at the express request of Nino Schurter. The next morning, after the necessary tests during the early hours, the software was installed on Nino's bike and he won. They claim that this update marks a before and after in explosive starts. This function allows the suspension to be set in the lockout position just at the start of the race, to maximize pedaling efficiency. The system automatically returns to automatic mode after a predefined time or when detecting an obstacle, all without the cyclist's intervention.
Just by seeing the five red LEDs blinking, you know you are ready to launch a powerful start. And yes, it was this feature that helped Nino Schurter dominate in Lenzerheide.
The Flight Attendant now reaches rigid bikes: only in the fork

One of the great novelties of the 2025 system is its ability to work exclusively with the fork. Previously, Flight Attendant required a complete setup with a rear shock. Now, thanks to a new algorithm, rigid bikes can make the most of intelligent compression control. This turns models like the Specialized Epic World Cup into true hybrid competition machines that take advantage of the lightweight and efficiency of a hardtail with the control of an intelligent system.

Customizable automatic mode and absolute control from the app
Now through the SRAM AXS app, users can adjust the behavior of the automatic mode with an unprecedented level of precision. New options like "Pedal Off", which eliminates the intermediate position for cyclists who prefer direct transitions between open and lockout. Or "Lockout Off", to keep the system always more active and responsive on changing terrains.
These settings are designed for both technical Short Track circuits, as well as aggressive enduro trails or marathon XC rides where traction and comfort make the difference.
Charger Race Day 2 Upgrade Kit
Available for SID and SID SL forks (C1-E1, 2021–2024), the Charger Race Day 2 Flight Attendant kit turns your fork into an electronic unit with three automatic compression positions (open, pedal, lockout), adjustable rebound, and total control from the AXS module.
For €649, this kit includes cartridge, control module, SRAM battery, and charger. The system is compatible with Quarq power meters, Flight Attendant pedal sensors, and ANT+ e-bike motors, thus expanding compatibility with multiple platforms, including Brose, Fazua, and Bosch.
What started as a tool exclusive to XC elite riders is now democratized. The 2025 update of RockShox Flight Attendant not only adds more intelligence to the system but also makes it accessible to more bikes, more cyclists, and more riding styles.
