New Orbea Avant 2025: a perfect bike to enjoy on the road

Orbea Avant: as far as the road takes you

Seeking maximum comfort is the goal that Orbea has worked on in the development of the latest generation of its Avant, its endurance road bike entry-level model that aims to hook anyone into road cycling from the first pedal stroke.

To achieve this comfort, Orbea has focused mainly on the geometry of the aluminum frame of this Avant, giving it a more vertical seat angle and a longer top tube. Additionally, the head tube has a more relaxed angle, which also results in a longer wheelbase to achieve a stable behavior, while adjusting the fork offset for each size to achieve the precise trail in all of them so that the behavior does not differ.

Aside from the geometry, tires have become the main element of absorption in current road bikes. This Orbea Avant comes with 28mm tires as standard but can accommodate up to 35mm, which, following the current all-road trend, would even allow us to venture into light gravel riding.

We mentioned that this Orbea Avant is built on an aluminum frame, as the Basque brand usually does, with exquisite craftsmanship that includes hydroformed tubes with triple butting to maximize weight savings without losing strength. As if that weren't enough, Orbea wanted to give this bike an aesthetic similar to its carbon frames, so all welds are polished to create a perfect transition between the different tubes. Finally, a detail not usually found in bikes of this range is the fully internal cable routing ICR+ that provides a clean aesthetic to the bike.

Orbea also wanted to offer users of this bike similar options to those who buy their top-of-the-line bikes and has included this Avant in its MyO customization program where we can personalize it with different options for bottle cage, handlebar, stem, wheels, or cranks, as well as optional accessories like a rack, fenders. By the way, speaking of accessories, this Orbea Avant includes the so-called Service Box, a small container that attaches to the underside of the down tube where we can carry everything we need to fix a flat tire and still have space for some money, keys, etc.
