New national XCO champions 2025: renewed jerseys and surprises
Taking advantage of the World Cup break, numerous countries have held their National XCO Championships this weekend. Here we review some of the most outstanding results and the names that will wear the national champion jerseys for the next 12 months.
Here are the National MTB XCO Champions 2025 after an intense weekend in Europe and America
With the arrival of July, as is tradition, the bulk of the National XCO and XCC Championships take place around the world. Although some like Australia, at the beginning of the year, or Switzerland and France, a few weeks ago, this past weekend was particularly intense and left many new names — and not so new — who will wear their country's colors on their chest.
In Switzerland, Filippo Colombo (SCOTT SRAM) and Alessandra Keller (Thömus Maxon) renewed their national titles, confirming their dominance in one of the countries with the highest level in the world. Both will defend the red jersey with the white cross for another year.
In France, a generational change was witnessed: young Olivia Onesti (BH) and Luca Martin (Cannondale) were crowned new national champions, confirming their progression and establishment in the international XCO elite.

In Spain, David Valero (BH Coloma Team) returned to the top and won his tenth national title, a historic milestone for the rider from Granada. In the women's category, Estíbaliz Sagardoy also renewed her title after a great performance.
In Germany, the country's top reference in the World Cup, Luca Schwarzbauer (Canyon), claimed the national XCO champion jersey, while in the women's category, Nina Raf (Lapierre) secured the victory.
Italy remains faithful to its champions: Luca Braidot (Wilier-Vittoria) and Martina Berta (Origine) once again defended their titles and remain absolute references in Italian XCO.
Canada, one of the nations that is growing the most on the international scene, crowned the young Cole Punchard (Cannondale), only 21 years old, as the new elite champion. In the women's category, Jennifer Jackson (Orbea FOX) repeated victory for the second consecutive year, consolidating her excellent season.

In Austria, Laura Stigger (Specialized) continues to dominate and renewed her jersey ahead of Tamara Wiedman (Mondraker), one of the great revelations of the year. In the men's category, Maximilian Foidl (KMC) also reclaimed the national champion title.
In Portugal, Raquel Queirós renewed her national title after defeating the young Ana Santos (Cannondale), while in the men's category, Roberto Ferreira finally achieved the coveted Portuguese champion jersey at 30 years old, after finishing second in 2024.
In United States, another of the emerging powers in the world of XCO, the National Championship saw a high-level edition despite the absence of Chris Blevins. In the men's category, Riley Amos (Trek Factory Racing) defeated Bjorn Riley (SCOTT SRAM) in an exciting duel. In the women's category, victory went to Kelsey Urban (KMC), who surpassed two of the country's top references: Savilia Blunk (Decathlon Ford) and Gwendalyn Gibson (Trek)
And in United Kingdom, the new champions were Isla Short, who is competing as an independent cyclist this year, and Charlie Aldridge (Cannondale), who, along with Tom Pidcock, is part of the core of British XCO and once again confirms his excellent level.

The next major XCO event will take place this week in the Portuguese town of Melgaço, where one of the most competitive European Championships in recent years will be held, with Tom Pidcock, Nino Schurter and David Valero already confirming their presence.
