New Megamo Reason 2027 with the powerful Avinox M2S engine: detailed setups and prices
Megamo takes a step forward with the new Reason 2027, the second generation of a platform that in just one year has gone from being a risky bet to consolidating itself as one of the most advanced eMTBs on the market. The evolution is not superficial, and although it maintains the same frame, the assembly of the incredible new Avinox M2S system and the new forks from Rockshox and Fox enhance the bike's capabilities.

Megamo Reason 2027: more power, more precision, and a real leap towards full-power enduro
The foundation remains the same idea that drove the first Reason, a full-power eMTB capable of balancing performance, weight, and behavior. But now that foundation is refined with tangible improvements that seek something very specific: to increase capability on aggressive terrain without losing efficiency or control.
One of the most important changes is not in a specific component, but in the approach. The Reason 2027 evolves into a bike with a character closer to enduro within the full-power segment.

The 160 mm version maintains its All-Mountain essence, but now offers a more solid performance on demanding descents. At the same time, the 140 mm Reason Air redefines its positioning, seeking a more realistic balance between Trail and All-Mountain.
This dual reading of the range makes it clear that Megamo is not only improving components but also adjusting the entire concept of use.
New Avinox M2S: game-changing figures
The big technological leap comes with the new Avinox M2S system, a direct evolution of the previous system that clearly aims to lead in figures and efficiency. In terms of power delivery, this motor stands completely alone and ahead of its competitors, on a scale that it has raised itself.

- Motor torque of up to 130 Nm in normal mode and 150 Nm in Boost mode
- Peak power of 1300 W
- Assistance ratio of up to 800%
- Motor weight of 2.6 kg (an increase of less than 100g compared to the previous version)
But beyond the numbers, the work has focused on reducing noise, vibrations, and pedaling resistance, two key aspects in modern eMTBs. Also introduced is flat wire type wiring technology, which improves energy efficiency and power delivery.

When compared to other systems on the market, the leap is evident. The M2S far exceeds peak power compared to motors like the Bosch Performance Line CX and others in its segment, placing it on a new level above.
Avinox Ecosystem: connectivity and autonomy in the spotlight
The system is not limited to the motor, and Megamo presents the complete ecosystem around the Avinox, with:
- 800 Wh battery
- Fast charging via USB-C at 65 W
- 2-inch OLED touchscreen
- GNSS and 4G connectivity
- Bluetooth and ANT+ compatibility

This approach reinforces the idea of an increasingly connected and configurable eMTB, where electronics play a central role in the experience.
Optimized chassis and real improvements in use
The frame maintains its carbon construction in the Crb versions but receives important adjustments in integration and behavior. A new XL size is also introduced, expanding the range of users and adapting the geometry for taller riders.
This is complemented by a general optimization of the set that seeks to improve precision and reliability in intensive use.

Suspensions and components: more stiffness and more control
One of the clearest changes in the setups of the new Megamo Reason 2027 is in the forks. This, along with the new electrical system, has multiplied the capabilities of this model.
The FOX 36 gives way to the FOX 38 in many setups, reinforcing front stiffness and capability on aggressive descents.
This new generation of the FOX 38 not only improves stiffness. Work has also been done to reduce internal friction to achieve a more sensitive operation from the start of the travel, in addition to introducing a redesign in the stanchions with greater overlap, which reinforces control in high-load situations. This is complemented by the evolution of the Grip X2 cartridges, which fine-tune hydraulic management and allow for more consistent behavior across all types of impacts.

In parallel, some setups incorporate the new RockShox Zeb Ultimate, an alternative also focused on aggressive use. In this case, the focus is on the new LinearXL air chamber and the Charger 3.2 cartridge, two elements that seek to improve sensitivity on small impacts without compromising support in more demanding areas. The result is a fork that offers a more controlled and predictable feel on long and technical descents.
Beyond these main changes, Megamo has also worked on a series of details that, although less visible, have a direct impact on the real use of the bike. The switch to Double Down casing tires represents a clear increase in resistance and protection against cuts or impacts, something especially relevant in an eMTB of this level. Contact points have also been revised, with new grips and saddle, aiming to improve comfort on long or demanding rides.

Aesthetically, the new paint finishes provide a differential component, with light-reactive effects that reinforce the visual identity of the model, while the overall integration of the set has been refined to offer a cleaner and more coherent image.
The overall result is a more robust bike, better prepared for aggressive use, and with a clear focus on real performance in trail and enduro.

The Reason 2027 doesn't break with the first generation, but it clearly takes it a step further. It improves where it needed to and reinforces its identity as a full-power eMTB capable of competing in the most demanding segment.
