New Fizik Vento Omna Wide, the most affordable and wide model in their catalog
Fizik announces the arrival of the Vento Omna Wide, the road shoes that enhance the features that defined the Omna. The Italian brand presents a wide model at a moderate price, designed for those cyclists who value comfort without it penalizing performance. The shoes are available in two colors, weigh 240 grams and cost 165 euros.
Fizik Vento Omna Wide: a model to gain comfort on the asphalt
Shoes are one of those essentials that shine in the closet of most cyclists. The debate -as usual- tends to lean towards rigid high-end featherweight models. However, these are options that require an outlay that exceeds the budget of many and that stand out for being narrow and less moldable than some would like. The Omna Wide came to fill that market gap, which now warmly welcomes Fizik's new creation.
The Vento Omna Wide are born with the desire to combine adjectives that are usually opposed. The shoes belong to the Italian firm's 'Vento' series, which refers to the product line in collaboration with professional cyclists who are precisely looking to improve performance, weight, and speed.

Fizik combines the racing spirit with the comfort typical of a wide model, sober in appearance and well finished despite being classified as an entry-level item. The Omna Wide inherits the features that distinguish the Omna, maintains the price of its older sister but gains in width.
The extra width of the Omna Wide offers greater comfort and is an invitation with "optimal fit" for those with wide feet, as in the words of the brand they have "a larger volume area in the forefoot that wraps around the ball of the foot and the metatarsals". In reality, the width change is less than 10%, which translates into a more generous fit that can be close to 5-10 millimeters difference.
The shoes are purely high-performance road shoes, with a synthetic polyurethane upper with several perforations that should help it breathe. In addition, it has a single BOA closure -similar to the one the Italian firm uses in the high-end Infinito model- that improves the precision of the fit and has lace guides that balance tension and eliminate pressure points.
The sole is nylon reinforced with rubber studs -not replaceable- that allow walking; the stiffness index is 6/12 and the design has moved the cleat screws back to increase pedaling ergonomics.
The Vento Omna Wide weigh 240 grams per shoe. The Italian firm offers them in black or white with black details and in a size range that goes from number 36 to 48. The price of 165 euros is the same as the Vento Omna.
