Movistar Team has just announced the renewal of Iván Romeo until 2030. The Spanish team thus ensures the continuity of one of the riders with the greatest potential in the international peloton and reinforces its commitment to building the future around the Valladolid native.
Iván Romeo will remain with Movistar Team until 2030 and aims to lead the new project
The contract extension comes just a year and a half after the previous renewal of the rider, who had signed until 2028 at the end of 2024. Now, both parties further extend their relationship in a move that clearly shows mutual trust and the team's intention to make Romeo one of the cornerstones of its long-term project.

At 22 years old, the Castilian cyclist has already established himself as one of the standout names in Spanish cycling. The results from the last two seasons perfectly illustrate the extent of his growth. In 2025, he won a stage in the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, another in the Critérium du Dauphiné, and was crowned champion of Spain in the road race. In 2026, he has already made another competitive leap after winning the overall and a stage of the Vuelta a Andalucía, in addition to adding another stage win in O Gran Camiño.
To all this, one of the greatest successes of his career so far is added, the under-23 world time trial title achieved at the 2024 World Championships in Zurich, a victory that further confirmed his enormous potential for the major races of the future.
Romeo himself explained that the contract extension provides him with stability to continue growing within a structure where he feels important. “I am very comfortable with the team and I have never hidden that. I think it is a step forward for me to have four years ahead and continue to develop calmly,” said the Valladolid native, who also highlighted the trust that exists between both parties and his involvement in the development of the sports project.
The Spanish rider also made it clear what his goal is for the coming years: to maintain the upward trajectory that has marked his entire career. Romeo stated that he wants to continue evolving season after season to become a more consistent rider capable of regularly competing in top-level events.
From the team's management, Sebastián Unzué described the renewal as a strategic priority for the Navarre structure. The manager highlighted both the rider's sporting growth and his importance within the group, assuring that the best years for the Valladolid native are still to come.
