More rigid, lighter, and faster: OQUO launches its most advanced range with carbon spokes for road and gravel
OQUO enters a new phase in the development of high-performance wheels with the launch of its LTD CS range, a completely redesigned family centered around carbon spokes. This is not just a simple evolution, but a total rethinking of the concept, where each element has been developed together to optimize overall performance.

OQUO makes a technological leap with its new carbon spoke wheels, designed as a complete system
The result is a proposal that aims to improve three key aspects in high-level cycling: power transmission, aerodynamic efficiency and weight reduction, all without losing control or the sensations demanded by competition.
OQUO's approach with this new range starts from a clear idea. Replacing steel spokes with carbon is not enough to achieve a real leap in performance. Therefore, the brand has developed the wheel as an integral system where the rim, hub, and spokes work together.

This approach allows for the adjustment of every operating parameter, from spoke tension to hub geometry, with the goal of achieving a more direct and precise response in high-demand situations.
Additionally, the development has been carried out entirely at its facilities in the Basque Country, allowing for total control of the process, from design to final assembly.
More stiffness, less weight, and better aerodynamics
The introduction of carbon spokes significantly changes the behavior of the wheel. Their lower elasticity compared to steel reduces deformation under load, resulting in a more immediate response when the cyclist applies power.
According to data provided by the brand, this translates to a 17% increase in torsional stiffness, improving reactivity in accelerations and sprints.

At the same time, the greater strength of carbon allows for a reduction in the number of spokes to 20 per wheel, which decreases the total weight of the system by around 6%. This saving is particularly noticeable in rotational weight, which is key in changes of pace and climbs.
In terms of aerodynamics, the reduced number of spokes and their wider, flatter profile help to reduce air resistance. Wind tunnel tests have measured an improvement of up to 2 watts compared to previous versions.
Advanced design and laboratory validation
The development of this range has not been limited to physical tests. OQUO has used CFD simulations to analyze airflow around the wheel and the entire bicycle, allowing for design optimization before manufacturing prototypes.

At the structural level, the use of finite element analysis has helped to reinforce critical areas of the rim, especially at the spoke anchor points, ensuring resistance to impacts and high loads.
This work is complemented by an in-house laboratory where the wheels undergo more demanding tests than the usual industry standards, aiming to ensure reliability in real competition conditions.
New specific hub and balance between performance and control
One of the key elements of this new platform is the Q10 CS hub, developed specifically to work with carbon spokes. Its design modifies angles and geometries to improve the balance of the assembly and maintain spoke tension even under maximum loads.

This hub also focuses on reducing internal friction through specific bearings and lubricants, aiming to minimize energy losses at high speeds.
Despite the focus on performance, OQUO has sought to maintain a certain level of comfort by adjusting factors such as spoke tension or rim design, trying to balance efficiency and control on different terrains.
OQUO LTD CS: four models to cover road, aero, and gravel
The new LTD CS range is structured into four main models, each oriented towards a specific use within high-level cycling.
RA80 LTD CS
- 80 mm profile, focused on maximum aerodynamics for time trials and triathlons
- Weight 1,567 g

RA57 LTD CS
- 57 mm profile, designed for high speed and competitive use on the road
- Weight 1,373 g

RP50 LTD CS
- 50 mm profile and 25 mm internal width, aimed at wider tires and mixed use on road and gravel
- Weight 1,371 g

RP45 LTD CS
- 45 mm profile and 1,223 g, the lightest option aimed at climbers

All models share a configuration of 20 carbon spokes, compatibility with disc brakes and thru-axles, as well as tubeless mounting as standard.
The price is set at 2,999 euros for all models, positioning them in the premium segment of the market.
Technology validated in competition
The development of these wheels has not been done solely in the laboratory. OQUO has worked for over two years with professional teams and gravel riders, directly translating their demands into the final product.

In fact, this new range has already begun to be used in competition with structures like Lotto-Intermarché, reinforcing its positioning as a product aimed at maximum performance.
Warranty, customization, and positioning in the range
The LTD CS wheels are part of the highest level within OQUO's catalog. They come with a lifetime warranty for the rims and a damage replacement program during the first years, reinforcing their premium focus.
Additionally, the brand offers aesthetic customization options at no extra cost, which is uncommon in this segment.
