More contrast and less visual fatigue for road, MTB, and gravel: the new SHIMANO RIDESCAPE lenses are here
SHIMANO has announced the expansion of its RIDESCAPE eyewear range with the arrival of three new lens options designed to respond to very specific conditions. The new RIDESCAPE BR, AR, and TR are part of a line that aims to optimize the cyclist's visual perception, improving contrast and terrain definition based on the environment and light intensity.

SHIMANO expands its RIDESCAPE eyewear ecosystem with three new specific lenses for road, gravel, and MTB
The RIDESCAPE philosophy is based on adjusting the color spectrum that reaches the eye to highlight key elements of the route, textures of the asphalt, irregularities of the road, or details of the trail, which are usually "flattened" in complex light conditions. With these new lenses, SHIMANO expands this approach to a greater number of disciplines and scenarios.

All RIDESCAPE lenses share a common technical base. SHIMANO uses a ultra-transparent and lightweight polyamide substrate, with a low refractive index and high Abbe value, two key factors to reduce chromatic aberration and maintain a sharp and precise image.
In addition, there is a hydrophobic treatment on both sides of the lens, which repels water, dust, and dirt, and an anti-scratch coating applied both on the outside and inside to improve durability in intensive use.
RIDESCAPE BR: road and intense sun
The new RIDESCAPE BR lens is the darkest option within the specific road range. With a 13% visible light transmission (VLT) and a gold mirrored finish, it is designed for very bright days. Its goal is to reduce glare and visual fatigue, helping to better distinguish small changes in the asphalt surface, such as joints, potholes, or polished areas, when the sun is strong.

RIDESCAPE AR: total versatility for all-road and gravel
The RIDESCAPE AR is presented as one of the most versatile lenses in the collection. With a 14% VLT and a multi-layer blue mirrored coating, it is designed to perform well on both asphalt and gravel tracks, and in variable light conditions. It is an option intended for those who combine surfaces and do not want to change lenses according to the route or weather.

RIDESCAPE TR: refined vision on trails
For MTB and trail, SHIMANO introduces the RIDESCAPE TR, a clearer lens aimed at improving terrain reading in technical areas. Its 38% VLT facilitates adaptation to rapid changes in light, such as those occurring in wooded trails, and helps to identify roots, rocks, or grooves more quickly.

Complete range of RIDESCAPE lenses and VLT
With these additions, the RIDESCAPE collection is configured as follows:
1. BR (Bright) – 13 %
2. HC (High Contrast) – 13 %
3. AR (All-Road) – 14 %
4. RD (Road) – 22 %
5. TR (Trail) – 38 %
6. CL (Cloudy) – 82 %
7. Photochromic Gray – 17 % to 85 %
8. Clear – 90.7 %
Each of these lenses replaces or improves previous options within the SHIMANO eyewear catalog, allowing the cyclist to choose more precisely based on their discipline, light conditions, and type of terrain.
To learn more about all the available options, as well as the technical features of each model, SHIMANO provides the complete RIDESCAPE lens catalog on its official website, where it is possible to consult the updated range of eyewear and specific lenses for road, gravel, and mountain biking.
