Modifications and video on the "terrifying" Crans Montana course
Yesterday was the first day that cyclists were able to train on the new circuit of the Crans Montana World Cup, and as predicted, it is the most dangerous layout that has been in this competition. So much so that the organizers have already had to modify it and new changes are not ruled out.
The XCO circuit of Crans Montana is as wild and dangerous as it seemed
Social media has been filled with videos of really dangerous falls on one of the wild rock gardens of Crans Montana, and in this video from the organization, you can already see how the gap has been eliminated that was in the middle of a stone berm and how protections have had to be placed on all the large stones that separate the two lines of the main rock garden.
UPDATE: The organization has also lowered the entrance to the main rock garden with a wooden platform.

All the cyclists interviewed in the video agree that this is the most demanding layout they have faced in the World Cup. Trek cyclist Bjorn Riley says that until now "there has never been a circuit like this" while the historic Henrique Avancini, now director of the Caloi team, downplayed the alarm by saying that "visually it is terrifying, but if you find the right line, it is safe."
To all this is added that it has been raining in the area and all the areas are becoming a little more unstable, both the slippery stones and the steep sections of loose soil or the multiple wooden platforms.
