Leo Paez wins the XCM World Cup in Andorra

The Colombian Leonardo Páez (Soudal Lee Cougan) has once again shown why he is one of the great specialists in MTB marathon by imposing himself with authority in the second round of the Hero UCI Marathon World Cup, held this Sunday on the demanding course of Andorra Naturaland.

The race, with start and finish in Sant Julià de Lòria, proposed a route of 60 km with 1,985 meters of positive elevation gain. A peculiar route that began with 8 km of descent followed by tough climbs that ended up being decisive for the climbers.

From the early stages, Páez selected the group in which prominent names like Andreas Seewald (Singer Racing), Wout Alleman (Buff Megamo), Diego Rosa (FOL MTB Racing), or Casey South (Torpado Kenda FSA) were riding. After overcoming the second long climb, the Colombian escaped alongside Seewald and maintained a tough battle with the German until in the final stretch he managed to leave him behind.
