LEGO launches its first aero road bike, it works and is full of nods to the current WorldTour
After years of seeing bicycle projects on LEGO Ideas that never became real products, LEGO has just presented what many cycling enthusiasts have been waiting for: its first large-scale road bike. And this is not a simplified model or just any children's toy. The new LEGO Icons Road Bike 11380 is a set of 1,015 pieces designed for adults, featuring functional transmission, operational wheels and steering, and an aesthetic clearly inspired by the modern aero bikes on the market.

LEGO finally has a road bike and it’s not just a simple toy: 1,015 pieces, functional transmission, and nods to the most famous aero bikes in the peloton
The Danish brand integrates it into its LEGO Icons range, a family usually reserved for classic cars, architecture, or historical vehicles, but this time the spotlight is on a road bike that seems to be taken straight from the WorldTour. In fact, much of the interest it has generated among fans comes precisely from trying to identify which real models have inspired its design.
A LEGO bike that really works
Beyond the visual aspect, the most striking feature of the model is that LEGO has aimed to replicate several of the basic mechanical elements of a real bike. The set includes functional steering in the front wheel, a movable chain transmission, and a freewheel system so that the pedals continue to work when the wheel spins by inertia.

It also includes quite unusual details for this type of set: a rear derailleur, caliper brakes, automatic pedals, a removable water bottle, a rear light, and aero wheels built with specific spokes to mimic modern carbon profiles.

The display stand is also not casual. LEGO has designed a base that elevates the rear wheel, allowing the pedals to move freely, something very similar to a smart trainer or a modern workshop stand.
And it’s not exactly small. Once assembled, the bike measures approximately 60 cm long, 36 cm high, and 19 cm wide. In other words, a model clearly designed for display and not to end up forgotten on a children's shelf.
What model would you say it is?
One of the things generating the most comments is the bike's resemblance to several very recognizable aero models on the current market.
The front is quite reminiscent of bikes like the Factor One or even some generations of the BMC Timemachine, while the more classic line of the top tube has a lot of the Giant Propel. The rear also features details that remind one of the Orbea Orca Aero or even the latest Merida Reacto.

It is not an official replica of any specific bike, but it does convey the current design language of competition aero bikes with deep profiles, visual integration, and aggressive geometries very well.
A set clearly aimed at cyclists
LEGO makes it quite clear that this model is not intended as a conventional children's toy. The brand itself markets it as a set for adults and as a decorative piece for home or office.
And honestly, it makes sense. There are quite a few nods specifically designed for people who ride bikes: the automatic pedals, the freewheel, the smart trainer-like stand, or the level of detail in the transmission demonstrate that behind the project there was someone who understands what a modern road bike is really like.

Moreover, the timing of the launch doesn’t seem coincidental. Pre-orders are already open, and the official availability will start on June 1, 2026, right in the middle of the Giro, Tour, and with Father's Day relatively close.
Price and availability
The new LEGO Icons Road Bike 11380 is already available for pre-order at the official LEGO store and some international retailers. The official price in Spain is 119.99 euros and it will officially arrive on June 1, 2026.
For many cyclists, it will probably end up being one of those purchases that are impossible to justify, but also impossible to ignore.
