Laura Stigger signs with SD Worx-Protime and will combine mountain bike and road cycling
Stigger is one of the best and most consistent XCO specialists in the world. In 2020 she started competing in Elite and since then her rise has been meteoric. In 2024 she closed the year at number 3 in the ranking, her best position so far, after a season full of podiums and victories.
But what many fans may not remember is that Stigger won the Junior Road World Championship in 2018 held in Innsbruck. And it seems that since then she has been eager to see how her performance will be in the elite category.

"It was super special to win the world title in my home and during my first real test on the road. Now I am curious to see how much I am worth in the elite category. It's good that I can find out while continuing my mountain bike career with the Specialized Factory Racing Team", said Stigger after the announcement of her signing with SD Worx-Protime.
Danny Stam, director of the SD Worx - Protime Team, welcomed Laura Stigger as the latest reinforcement for the 2025 season: "Laura will combine mountain biking with road cycling. We are happy that she is doing this with us. With Laura, we have another good reinforcement for climbing. She will do well in the Ardennes work. Last year she attended a training camp with our team and it went very well. That's why we made the decision to give her the opportunity to try it out." "Combinations of different disciplines are increasingly a trend. Mountain biking and road cycling are quite complementary. Mountain bikers are usually quite strong in the mountains and can release their power well there.".
