Paris-Nice 2025: favorites, times and how to watch
The race towards the sun is usually a regular appointment for those who in the month of June want to face the Tour de France with full guarantees of fighting for victory. Among them is Jonas Vingegaard, who seeks to continue the good form he showed in Algarve in the 2025 Paris-Nice and gradually strengthen his form for an epic showdown against Tadej Pogacar.
Visma-Lease a Bike seeks to repeat victory in the Paris-Nice
Considering the starting line-up of the Tirreno-Adriatico and the 2025 Paris-Nice, it seems that this year the Italian race has managed to attract a better group of cyclists. However, the race of the two seas cannot count on a double winner of the Tour de France like Jonas Vingegaard, who, after his victory in Volta ao Algarve, is the favorite to win the race towards the sun, a race that Visma-Lease a Bike conquered last year with Matteo Jorgenson, who will have to wait for his leader's mistake if he wants to have a chance to repeat victory.

The Dane will have to face strong rivals, starting with Aleksandr Vlasov. On the other hand, UAE Team Emirates-XRG will rely on Joao Almeida, who showed an unusual spark in him during the Algarve race and here will have the opportunity to make up for the disappointment of losing the home race in the final time trial.
We must also keep an eye on what Ben O'Connor can do in his first real test in 2025 after a discreet debut in Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. And let's not forget about a Movistar Team that has started the year with an intensity and ambition rarely seen in this team, and in the 2025 Paris-Nice, they will have a lineup of true luxury including Ivan Romeo and Pablo Castrillo.
2025 Paris-Nice Route
The Paris-Nice remains true to its style with a route where the medium mountains have their own prominence in almost every one of the 8 stages that will be held between next Sunday, March 9, and the following Sunday, March 16.
A race that starts on the outskirts of Paris with a hilly route of just 156 km, full of small climbs that, although unlikely to break the race, will surely provide an interesting spectacle from the first pedal strokes.
It will be followed by a completely flat stage that will allow cyclists to arrive fresh for the third day, where the organization has opted for a team time trial. 28.4 kilometers that will surely bring some differences, especially due to a route that is not exactly flat and where the icing on the cake will be the Pisserotte climb, just one kilometer long but with ramps reaching 11% and located only 4 km from the finish, which could break the teams and condition the final result of the stage.
Until the time trial, everything had been like an introduction. From then on, the race will not offer any rest, starting with the fourth stage, a real saw with no less than 6 categorized climbs, including the finish at La Loge des Gardes. A similar profile to the fifth stage, although with less demanding ascents, so it is a good option for high-level breakaways, although, who knows, the uphill finish at Cote Saint André may be too tempting for the general classification riders to let it pass.
The sixth stage has a flat route, a respite for the riders' legs before the last two days, which again will be decisive for the final result. The first of them with a finish in Auron, after passing through La Colmiane for another uphill finish, and, as a dessert, the traditional stage around Nice, a short but intense stage that includes the usual climbs up Col d'Eze and Quattre Chemins before the fast descent to the Promenade des Anglais on the French Riviera.
