"It can increase the risk of serious accidents, injuries, and even death": DT Swiss expands its wheel recall
DT Swiss expands the immediate stop notice for safety reasons that it already made a few weeks ago about several models of carbon road wheels. After an initial warning issued on July 12, 2025, the Swiss company has expanded the scope to include certain models of the ARC series as well.
Which DT Swiss wheels are affected by this safety notice?
The recall and immediate stop affect carbon wheels with the following profiles and series manufactured from August 1, 2024:
- ARC 1100, 1400, 1600 DICUT - 50 / 55 / 65 mm
- ARC 1600 SPLINE - 50 / 55 / 65 mm
- ERC 1100, 1400, 1600 DICUT - 35 / 45 mm
- ERC 1600 SPLINE - 35 / 45 mm
- ERC LOG CLASSIC - 45 mm
- CRC 1100 DICUT - 45 mm
- CRC 1400, 1600 SPLINE - 35 / 45 mm
- HEC 1400 SPLINE - 45 mm
The brand has specified that only wheels with carbon fiber rims manufactured in Vietnam and with a DT Swiss identification number (ID) equal to or greater than 2740000 are affected. Not all wheels with this number are affected, so it is essential to verify it.
Therefore, this notice does not affect DT Swiss ARC wheels with profiles of 38, 62, 80, and 85 mm and all rims manufactured at DT Swiss's own plant in Poland.

What is the issue?
In some ERC models, cases of spontaneous delamination have been detected on the edge of the rim (flank area), which leads to structural weakening that can cause total rim failures. Although no incidents have been reported in the ARC series, quality controls have detected similar manufacturing concerns, so it has been decided to include them preventively in the recall.
“This defect can increase the risk of serious accidents, injuries, and even death,” warns DT Swiss.
How to check if your wheel is affected
- Look for the DT Swiss ID number inside the rim (between spokes, on the rim tape, or in the rim channel).
- If your wheel has an ID ≥ 2740000, go to www.dtswiss.com/recall
- Enter the ID in the form to check if your wheel is included.
- If the ID is not visible, you can send the rim serial number (under the TL tape) by mail to: recall@dtswiss.com
What to do if your wheels are affected
- Stop using the wheel immediately.
- Register the product on the official website.
- You will receive shipping boxes and an instruction kit. If you cannot disassemble the components (tires, discs, cassettes), DT Swiss will reimburse the expenses.
- Once the wheel is received, a quality check exceeding ISO 4210 standards will be performed.
- If your wheel passes inspection, it will be returned to you.
- If it does not pass, you will receive a free replacement wheel.
The brand estimates that this process may take up to 20 working days during the first weeks (from the issuance of the notice), with the aim of reducing it to less than 10 days per wheel.
