Spanish Hugo Franco becomes runner-up in the Junior XCO World Championship
Hugo Franco, the current Spanish champion in the junior category and seventh in the recent European Championship in Cheile Gradistei, finished second in the XCO World Championship in his category. The gold went to 17-year-old Danish rider Albert Philipsen, who crossed the finish line first in 1 hour, 1 minute, and 59 seconds. The podium was completed by his compatriot Nikolaj Hougs.
In the same race, Galician rider Álex García finished in sixth place, 2 minutes and 22 seconds behind the gold, while Sevillian rider Guillermo Parrado finished in 62nd place. In the women's category, Galician rider Lorena Patiño finished in eleventh place, 3 minutes and 34 seconds behind the gold, which was won by Slovakian Viktoria Chladonova.
