"Having Seixas and Pogacar together would be more than a dream" Gianetti confirms UAE's interest in Seixas
Mauro Gianetti, manager of UAE Emirates, has confirmed that Paul Seixas is on the radar of the Emirati team. If until now it was all rumors, the Swiss manager himself has named the interest in the CyclingActu podcast, without shying away from the spotlight.
Pogacar & Seixas: UAE is already allowed to dream out loud
It was in that space where Gianetti opened the door to Seixas with a clear admiration for the cyclist who is raising the most expectations in France after his spectacular second place in the Strade Bianche.
"It is extraordinary to see a rider with such crystal-clear talent as Paul Seixas. What he has done at the start of this season is truly exceptional. And he not only impresses with his physical level but also with the character he shows in races. He is a new phenomenon arriving, like Tadej, like Van der Poel, like Evenepoel, like Vingegaard. Another rider who is going to bring excitement to cycling and, for French cycling, is something extraordinary."

Seixas has a contract with Decathlon until the end of 2027. That detail hinders any immediate movement, although Gianetti acknowledges the interest without taking a further step. "Like all teams, we are watching what Seixas will do in the future, but in the end, it is the cyclist who will decide where he wants to go. He is in a very good structure and in a very united team."
The most fervent praise comes when recalling his performance in the Strade Bianche, where the Frenchman was the only one able to respond to Pogacar's attack before finishing second after also dropping Del Toro in the sprint. "Chapeau to him and what he did, extraordinary at a physical and character level." A performance that, apparently, did not go unnoticed in the UAE offices.
The conversation flies towards the dream that many are already daring to imagine. Pogacar and Seixas, together under the same jersey. Gianetti does not hide. "Bringing Pogacar together with Seixas? That is more than just a dream."
The younger Seixas, also in the Emirati orbit
In the same conversation, they also talked about the younger Seixas, Nino, who is 16 years old and was already seen training with UAE this winter. Gianetti framed the contact within a usual policy of the team with young talents, making it clear that there are no contracts involved.
"We support about ten junior riders each year. We provide them with equipment, advice, training and nutrition guidelines, but without contracts or obligations. We believe that at that age, the important thing is to continue studying. We prefer that they stay in their clubs, close to their families, and finish their studies. Nino is one of those riders we support."
Two brothers, the same last name, and a team that does not take its eyes off them. While Paul continues to grow by leaps and bounds in his second professional season and the market begins to revolve around him, Nino takes his first steps supported by one of the most ambitious projects in the WorldTour. UAE has not signed anything, but they already have a clear idea of where they want to look.
