The Garmin Fenix 8 is fully leaked and now it does seem like a real alternative for cycle computers
The Garmin Fenix watch continues to be the benchmark for multi-sport smartwatches and it was no secret that the brand was going to update it in the coming months, but this time the rumors have been overshadowed by a series of leaks that have revealed everything about the Garmin Fenix 8. Design changes, AMOLED screen, improved solar charging are just some of the new features.
New Garmin Fenix 8 leaked
Among the leaks, there is an online store that has published the product ahead of time and a Youtube channel from Ukraine that directly does an unboxing of it.
Among its most outstanding features, we find a larger screen, 1.3" with AMOLED technology. This will completely change the experience with the watch and its screen quality rises to the level of the best smartwatches or mobile phones. Additionally, with these improvements, it could be a real alternative to a cycling computer and offer a good view of data and maps from the bike's handlebars.
RECOMENDADO
One might think that this AMOLED screen would go against the great autonomy offered by the Garmin Fenix, but it is not the case in this new version. An autonomy of 29 days is estimated for the normal version and 48 days for the SOLAR model, thanks to its improved solar charging system on the screen. It is also mentioned up to 48 hours with the screen active, for example when consulting maps.
Regarding the models and prices, some leaks contradict each other but there is talk of 3 dial sizes in 43, 47, and 51 mm, among which there will be a Fenix E version that, with the sensor and screen of the Fenix 7, could be the entry-level model. Prices for the new Fenix 8 would range between 1000 and 1200 euros.
We will update this information as soon as an official presentation is made, which could arrive in the coming days or weeks.
