Focus has presented the complete renewal of its ATLAS, a gravel bike designed for losing yourself on it, leaving behind haste, routines, and the notion of time. The German brand now bets on a more adventurous bike that is, at the same time, more sporty, reactive, and modern, with two well-differentiated families, series 6 in aluminum and series 8 in carbon, which expand versatility and adaptability for all types of cyclists and routes.

New Focus Atlas: a gravel bike created for adventure with a more complete platform

From quick outings on trails to long bikepacking trips or even daily commutes with cargo, the new ATLAS aims to become a total tool. According to Focus, what matters is not the destination, but how and where you get lost with it.

The new frame is filled with anchor points and cargo solutions that allow transforming the bike based on the adventure ahead. Focus confirms that the ATLAS is certified to carry a total weight of 135 kg, providing enough margin for luggage, accessories, and prolonged use on demanding terrains. Both the fork and the frame have mounts for bags, bottle holders, racks, and all kinds of supports, allowing the cyclist to adapt the bike for day trips, multi-day routes, or limitless journeys.

One of the major innovations is the Prep Pocket, exclusive to the series 8. It is an integrated compartment in the diagonal tube that allows transporting bars, a tube, tools, or the specific internal bag, the Prep Pack, without vibrations and with a firm closure system. Its design even allows carrying a mini pump secured inside. The brand also highlights that there is space for a second pack, significantly increasing storage capacity without always resorting to external bags.

The well-known Adventure Rack also returns and remains compatible with all ATLAS models. Its construction allows for stable attachment of side bags, keeping the center of gravity low even with abundant load. For those who combine urban and touring use, Focus also introduces the Hawaii Rack, a front rack with a capacity of 5 kg and integrated light in the 6.8 EQP version. However, the brand humorously warns that transporting a Hawaiian pizza in Italy might not be the best idea.

Updated geometry with two clear personalities: series 6 and series 8

The geometry of the ATLAS has been updated to provide a sportier ride while maintaining a balance between stability and agility.

The series 6, built in aluminum, adopts a slightly shorter wheelbase, offering a livelier behavior without losing the feeling of control. The greater offset and reduced trail reinforce agile steering, while a shorter seat tube allows for greater flex and comfort.

The series 8, made of carbon, receives a more marked update. With a more pronounced head angle and a shortened trail, the bike gains precision and sensitivity in handling. The reduction of the stack generates a lower and sportier position, suitable for those looking for a fast gravel bike, even oriented towards competition. Like in the series 6, the seat tube is slightly shorter to provide extra absorption through the seat post.

Tubeless, universal compatibility, and premium finishes

The entire range is tubeless ready with 45 mm tires, although the ATLAS 8.9 is delivered directly without tubes and with the liquid installed. Focus definitively abandons the Road Boost standard and adopts the 12x100 and 12x142 axles, along with a BSA bottom bracket, a combination that facilitates repairs and compatibility with most components on the market.

The finishes also improve. The series 6 features polished welds that enhance the aesthetics of aluminum, and all ranges include complete internal cable routing through the C.I.S. stem. Additionally, the frames of the ATLAS 8.9 are hand-painted, making each unit a unique piece. The tire clearance increases to 53 mm in the fork, while the rear accommodates 48 mm in the series 6 and 45 mm in the series 8.
