Felipe Orts' Ridley X-Night RS for this season in detail
The Belgian brand Ridley has traditionally been linked to cyclocross. A commitment to the mud discipline that is reinforced this 2024-25 season after the creation of their Ridley Racing Team, which has already been given good visibility by Felipe Orts at the beginning of this campaign while they await the return of the world runner-up Joris Nieuwenhuis.
Maximum agility and aerodynamics for the Ridley Racing Team weapon
Ridley, as a good Belgian brand, has been linked to cyclocross since its inception, having been used throughout this century by cyclists of the caliber of Mario De Clercq, Bart Wellens, or Zdnek Stybar. Now, with the creation of their factory team Ridley Racing Team and the fifth generation of their Ridley X-Night RS, which they presented last winter, they promise to go one step further.

As a good cyclocross machine, the Ridley X-Night RS is comfortable for the cyclist, especially when it needs to be carried on the shoulder to overcome obstacles that cannot be pedaled through. Additionally, in a discipline where pedaling speed is increasing and races are held at a dizzying pace, Ridley has also not neglected the aerodynamic aspect by shaping the tubes of this bike.
However, what really sets apart a good cyclocross machine is the geometry, which allows the cyclist to expend the least amount of energy possible when navigating the countless curves of the twisty circuits, change inclination with maximum agility, and pedal at all times without the risk of hitting the ground with the pedals.
This Ridley X-Night RS places the bottom bracket higher, which, in addition to providing more clearance between the pedals and the ground, helps facilitate changes in inclination when linking curves. An agility that is enhanced by a very vertical steering angle and a reduced wheelbase.
Aside from these essential characteristics, the Ridley Racing Team machine includes other details such as the increasingly common UDH derailleur hanger, is designed to use a double or single chainring configuration, in which case the front derailleur mount can be used to install a specific chain guide for added reliability.
Undoubtedly, a top-level weapon that only lacks achieving a major prestigious victory, which hopefully will soon be in the hands of Felipe Orts, who has had a truly brilliant start to the season for the new Ridley Racing Team squad.
