"With Emilly and Bjorn, we have two great talents as part of the team for the future. Both have a lot of talent and are ready to take the next step in their careers. The whole team is ready to support them in their professional development in MTB races. And I'm sure there are also things we can learn from them", commented Thomas Frischknecht, historic director of SCOTT SRAM.
American youngster Bjorn Riley, from Boulder, Colorado, made a name for himself last season with two wins at the Les Gets World Cup in the XCC and XCO categories, as well as multiple podiums in 2024. He also won the Elite title at the U.S. National XCO Championship.
"I'm excited to learn from my incredible new teammates, absorb their experience, and push myself to new limits. Competing at this level has always been a dream, and I can't wait to see what I can achieve with such a solid and inspiring team by my side."Bjorn Riley commented after his presentation.
Meanwhile, young Canadian from Vancouver Island, Emilly Johnston, will join SCOTT-SRAM as a reinforcement for the women's team. Johnston was also a standout in the under-23 season, with a victory in the Crans Montana Short Track, and a total of 9 podiums that earned her an excellent second place in the overall standings. She also won the bronze medal at the U23 World Championships.
"I am very excited to join the team of my dreams in my first year as an elite. I have an incredible opportunity to learn from the best riders and staff in the world and I can't wait to make the most of every moment.". Emilly Johnston expressed.
With these additions, the SCOTT SRAM MTB Racing team will be composed in 2025 of Emilly Johnston, Bjorn Riley, Nino Schurter, Filippo Colombo, and Andri Frischknecht. A powerful and complete team with which it would not be surprising if they occupied several positions on the same podium in the most important XCO races of the year.
