Craze broke out in the last hours and 160,000€ were paid for Pogacar's bike
During the Tour de France, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG clearly opted for Colnago's aerodynamic model, the Y1Rs introduced by the Cambiago firm at the beginning of the season, believing that the aerodynamic gains it provided more than compensated for the extra weight. Midway through the Tour de France, they went a little further by releasing a lighter version of it that has finally ended up being sold at the famous auction house Sotheby's.

Bike collectors bid for the Colnago Y1Rs with which Tadej Pogacar won the Tour de France
The problem with using an aerodynamic bike in the mountains of the Tour de France has been the typical issue with these machines: the extra weight that comes with having profiled tubes and very tall wheels to gain those advantages against the wind. However, even while in the midst of the Tour de France, Colnago prepared a lighter version of the Y1Rs for Tadej Pogacar with the sole purpose of having the best of both worlds, both aerodynamic and a weight of 6.9 kg, close to the UCI limit, to face the decisive time trial climb to Peyragudes with all the aces up his sleeve, where the Slovenian crushed his rivals.
Tadej Pogacar liked the performance of this unit with a minimalist carbon design, seen to save a good amount of grams by forgoing paint, so much that he continued to use it for the rest of the Tour de France in stages such as, for example, the one at Mont Ventoux or the queen stage finishing at Col de la Loze.

Pogacar continued using a bike like this in the final stretch of the season to win in the Canadian classics, the World Championship in Kigali, or in Il Lombardia, although not exactly the same unit from the Tour de France, as the one used in the last part of the season differed slightly in decoration.
Now this first Colnago Y1Rs lighter version from the Tour de France becomes a coveted piece for cycling collectors as it goes up for auction at the renowned Sotheby’s. An auction that started on Monday, December 1, and will remain open until 16:34 on the upcoming December 5.

Estimates suggested that the bike could sell for around 20,000 €, but in the first hours of auction bids rose to almost 13,000 €, the price kept rising surprisingly to reach 60,000 a day before it closed. But, as usual, the madness was unleashed in the last hours.

Finally the special version, in exposed carbon, of the Colnago Y1RS used by Pogacar himself in 2025 has been sold for 190,500€, just over 160,000€. Undoubtedly a price that places it closer to an object of contemplation than a functional bike.
The sale price has exceeded all expectations, but we can not forget that it may be the bike used by the best cyclist in history. Time will tell.
