Van der Poel's team is about to change
The structure led by the Roodhooft brothers is facing a key turning point in its continuity. What just a few weeks ago seemed like a major problem, the possible simultaneous departure of two main sponsors, has begun to resolve after Alpecin officially announced its renewal for two more years, with an option for a third, ensuring short-term financial support for Mathieu van der Poel's team. At the same time, Deceuninck has confirmed that it will cease to be the main sponsor, although it will remain linked as a minor partner.
Alpecin renews, Deceuninck departs, and the future points to Premier Tech
This move leaves a central space in the team's naming, and all eyes are on the same candidate: Premier Tech, whose separation from the former Israel-Premier Tech, marked by strong protests regarding the team's relationship with the State of Israel, opened the door to a new sports project.
Deceuninck leaves, Alpecin stays
The Belgian company Deceuninck had already communicated in the spring its intention to withdraw as the main sponsor if the team found a replacement. Now it has made it effective. However, it will maintain its presence on the jersey and continue as a secondary partner.
From the Belgian structure, they highlight their role in four seasons filled with successes, from victories in Monuments and stages of grand tours to world titles in cyclocross, mountain biking, road, track, and eRacing.
The team's message is clear: this is not a breakup, but the beginning of a relationship in a different role.

The continuity of Alpecin is the piece that supports the project. The German brand, linked to the team since before its leap to the WorldTour, has decided to extend its sponsorship, ensuring a solid foundation for continued growth.

The Dr. Wolff Group described the alliance as an example of “shared ambition, trust, and performance,” emphasizing that the coming years should serve to consolidate an already winning model.
The Roodhoofts, for their part, emphasize that this agreement offers “clarity and continuity,” two essential factors for planning the next phase of the team.
Premier Tech, favorite to fill Deceuninck's spot
With the departure of one title sponsor and the renewal of another, all rumors converge on Premier Tech. For weeks, multiple sources from the international peloton have pointed out that the Canadian company is very close to finalizing an agreement that would lead to a new naming, presumably Alpecin–Premier Tech.
The brand recently left its previous structure after a tumultuous period, with protests that directly affected the Israel team. Its arrival at Van der Poel's team would represent a significant change in direction and top-level financial backing.
For now, there is no official confirmation, although the team has called a press conference in Antwerp, and news is expected imminently.
Zwift and Canyon also continue
WielerFlits reported that Zwift has extended its agreement with the team until 2028, while Canyon will continue supplying bicycles and will maintain its direct sponsorship of Mathieu van der Poel until that year as well.
The sum of these partners consolidates one of the most stable and competitive projects in the current WorldTour.
