Decathlon CMA CGM takes the leap into women's cycling with a new ProTeam for 2027
The new formation is backed by the main sponsors DECATHLON and CMA CGM, as well as support from Van Rysel as the main technical sponsor and Adecco and SHINE by Cegid as official sponsors. The goal is to strengthen the structure's commitment to developing female talent and continue promoting equality of opportunity in professional cycling.
Integrated into the NewGen program
The women's team will become part of the NewGen program, led by Guillaume Bonnafond, a structure that already includes the Junior and Continental men's teams. The project will be based in La Motte-Servolex, where the team has its Performance Center, considered one of the pillars of its training and development strategy for young cyclists.
Additionally, DECATHLON CMA CGM will work in collaboration with the French Cycling Federation to facilitate the progression of a new generation of female riders with the intention of helping them reach the highest level of international cycling.

The squad will start its journey with a roster of 12 cyclists and will have a complete technical structure consisting of a sports director, coach, two sports assistants, two mechanics, team doctor, physiotherapist, nutritionist, and specialists in physical preparation and mental performance.

One of the most notable aspects of the project is that the women's team will share a good part of the resources of the men's WorldTour team. The riders will have access to the services of the Performance Center and will compete with bicycles and equipment from Van Rysel, following the same organizational model currently used by the men's team. According to the French formation, this structure will allow for working conditions aligned with the performance standards of the highest level.
Goal: to reach the WorldTour
During the presentation of the project, the director of the NewGen program, Guillaume Bonnafond, explained that the intention is to create a bridge between the training categories and the women's WorldTour.
“Our philosophy is based on the development and detection of talent. We want to provide young cyclists coming from road, cyclocross, and MTB with an environment suited to their growth. The goal is to build a sustainable team capable of joining the WorldTour circuit in the coming years,” Bonnafond stated.
For his part, the CEO of the team, Dominique Serieys, assured that this launch represents “a great step forward” within the global project of the structure and reinforces its ambition to become a reference in cycling by focusing on talent development.
From DECATHLON, its CEO Javier López highlighted that the new team will allow for transferring product development innovations obtained in high-level competition, while Rodolphe Saadé, CEO of CMA CGM, emphasized the company's commitment to promoting female talent and the growth of international women's cycling.
