Colnago presents a more affordable V4 for €5,500
The brand from Cambiago is trying to shake off some of that elitist brand label that has been hanging over it throughout its extensive history and that had been emphasized in recent years with truly luxurious bikes. Now, Colnago creates a more affordable model with its new V4 that brings the benefits of the V4r used by Tadej Pogacar and the UAE Team Emirates to the majority of mortals.
Colnago brings its flagship to the mid-range
It is common for most brands, but Colnago had preferred to stay in recent years with a catalog limited only to high-end models, increasing that image of an unattainable brand only for well-off pockets.
RECOMENDADO
However, as most brands know, you cannot only live off high-end models, especially if you have to sponsor and provide bikes to the number 1 team in the world like the UAE Team Emirates. Perhaps this is one of the main reasons why Colnago has decided to expand its road collection to the mid-range, making the dream of owning a bike with the clover brand accessible to many more cyclists.
The new Colnago V4 is externally identical to its older sister V4r, the bike used by Tadej Pogacar, and in fact, it uses the same molds, allowing it to have a similar behavior and the same aerodynamic qualities. Even the lamination of its different carbon pieces is similar, varying only the material itself, using a lower-level carbon and, therefore, more affordable. The result, as is usual, is a few extra grams and a slight decrease in parameters such as stiffness. Practically imperceptible for most cyclists.
This Colnago V4 maintains features such as wheel clearances that allow the use of tires up to 30 mm or completely internal wiring, but with a separate stem and handlebar instead of the spectacular integrated handlebar of the V4r.
Furthermore, Colnago has prepared three setups for this bike ranging from Shimano Ultegra Di2 to SRAM Rival AXS, including Shimano 105 Di2, with prices ranging from €5,690 to €4,730 in its most affordable option.
