Chris Blevins will compete again in Lenzerheide after recovering from his collarbone fracture
After more than six weeks away from competition due to a collarbone fracture, everything points to Chris Blevins returning this weekend to the Lenzerheide World Cup. The American from Specialized Factory Racing, the current overall winner of the World Cup standings, has already moved past the most delicate phase of his recovery and is expected to make his comeback in both the Short Track (XCC) and the XCO events at the Swiss venue.

The injury occurred at the end of April during a training session prior to the YongPyong World Cup. That fall caused a collarbone fracture that forced him to miss the start of the season and several key events on the calendar, leaving Specialized without one of its main references in the fight for the overall title.
Now, everything indicates that the wait is over. Just a few days ago, Blevins himself shared a very positive update about his physical condition:
“The bags are packed and ready to get back to all of this. This past week I feel like I have overcome the last major obstacle in my collarbone recovery and I am almost at 100%. It has been great to get back on the MTB for a few days and feel that my strength has returned to normal. My schedule was just right to compete in Leogang this weekend, but I will be on the starting line in Lenzerheide.”

Although he ultimately could not compete in Leogang, Blevins did travel to Austria to support Specialized Factory Racing over the weekend. He was seen in the paddock cheering on his teammates and especially celebrating the brilliant victory of Adrien Boichis in the elite men's XCO.
Additionally, the American also participated in the television broadcast providing commentary and technical analysis, a presence that made it clear that his return to competition was very close.
Blevins' presence will also help recover a fundamental piece in the team's structure. Before the injury, the American was expected to be one of the main contenders for the overall title and one of the strongest riders in both XCC and XCO.

Lenzerheide has historically been one of the most spectacular and demanding circuits in the World Cup, with a course that combines long climbs, fast sections, and descents, although it is true that Blevins has not performed particularly well on this track in recent years.
After missing the rounds in YongPyong, Nové Město, and Leogang, his return adds a name of great weight to a men's field that is going through one of the most open and competitive moments in recent years, with figures like Tom Pidcock, Filippo Colombo, Luca Martin, Simon Andreassen, and Boichis himself gaining prominence in the latest races.
