Canyon paints in sprint mode: another custom Aeroad CFR for Van der Poel
Extra hours for the brand customization managers of the bikes during the Tour de France to have the bikes ready on time with the colors of the different leader jerseys when one of the cyclists reaches the top of one of the classifications. Just ask Canyon, who in this Tour de France has already had to prepare three bikes.
Canyon takes advantage of its MyCanyon program to quickly customize Van der Poel's bike
For some years now, bike brands have found in the leader jerseys of the different classifications fought in a grand tour like the Tour de France, a good advertising claim for which they do not hesitate to use their customization programs to provide cyclists with bikes matching the leader jerseys they will wear on different stages.
A good example are the bikes that Canyon has had to prepare throughout the just 6 stages of the Tour de France 2025 in which Jasper Philipsen started with a victory in the first stage, which meant winning the yellow jersey of the race. But in the second stage, Mathieu van der Poel's stage victory made him rise to the top of the general classification while Philipsen moved to wear the green jersey of the points classification.

Philipsen would abandon in the third stage while, after the time trial on the fifth day, Mathieu van der Poel would return to his conventional bike although, just for one day since in yesterday's stage, at the last minute, the Dutchman regained the lead in the general classification so he is back to riding a completely yellow bike.
Customizations for which Canyon uses the MyCanyon program that they launched at the beginning of the year, specifically the Hand option, a name that refers to their artisanal painting process and in which they use a design option available to any customer of the German brand, specifically the Carina design. However, what is not available at the moment is the yellow or green color option so the bikes used by Philipsen and Van der Poel are unique.
Canyon Aeroad CFR bikes that, apart from the paint, maintain the assembly and measurements that cyclists usually use throughout the rest of the year, in the case of Alpecin-Deceuninck with an assembly totally based on Shimano.
Brands often plan for certain cyclists to reach the leadership of some classifications so they anticipate by preparing bikes with these designs. Obviously, in the case of Alpecin-Deceuninck, it was more than foreseeable that both Van der Poel and Philipsen could achieve both the yellow and green jerseys in these early stages. However, many times this result is a surprise and yet, brands are often able to prepare a customized frame on the same day, send the bike to the team and mechanics, putting in a few extra hours, assemble and have the new bike ready to use in the stage.
By the way, after what was seen in yesterday's stage, Mathieu van der Poel seems to have every intention of fighting for the green jersey in this edition of the Tour de France. Surely in Coblenza they have already seen it and are painting a new Canyon Aeroad CFR in green.
