Canyon Grail 2024, Canyon's competition gravel bike becomes faster
Canyon evolves its most sporty gravel bike with a more efficient and aerodynamic frame that does not give up a great load capacity for those looking for the best performance not only in the UCI Gravel Series tests but also in the major long-distance competitions on the specialty calendar.
Canyon redefines competition gravel bikes with its new Grail
Canyon's catalog includes two gravel bikes. On one hand, the Grilz, designed for a more touring and adventurous use, bike packing adventures and routes that often resemble mountain biking. On the other hand, the Grail has been their benchmark for efficient gravel bikes since its launch. A bike characterized by the peculiar handlebar design made by the Germans that generated both love and hate in equal parts.
Now, the Grail is completely renewed to adapt to the current gravel competitions' needs, not only the relatively short tests like the one we enjoyed a few days ago at the Gravel World Championship where it played a prominent role achieving a commendable 4th place by Alejandro Valverde or the victory in the women's category by Kasia Niewiadoma, but also to be efficient in major calendar events such as Unbound, The Traka, or even multi-day challenges like Badlands.

Events with different requirements that demand the bike to adapt to each of them. This is precisely what Canyon has worked on with this new Grail so that you can configure it according to your needs.
The first thing that catches the eye about this new Grail is that it dispenses with the characteristic handlebar of the existing version in favor of a more conventional option. Besides, the German brand has worked on aerodynamics achieving an improvement of 9 W compared to its predecessor.
The load capacity has also been an aspect that Canyon has worked on, creating for this bike the Aero LOAD system which includes internal storage in the down tube as well as LOAD FidLock QuickLoader bags located at the vertex formed by the head tube, top tube, and down tube, becoming an aerodynamic extension of the handlebar while offering great load capacity and easy access.
As we mentioned, the handlebar has been another major change in this bike. Canyon has created an integrated set for this Grail characterized by outward angled drops and a generous flare where it is also possible to install triathlon-type extensions specifically designed for this handlebar, inspired by the Speedmax aerobars, the brand's time trial bike.
All this is complemented by a collection of accessories such as specific mudguards or fork leg bags that allow us to face any challenge with this Grail.
Canyon Grail 2024: Setups and prices
Like in the rest of their new models, Canyon presents this Grail in three frame levels and several assemblies for each of them.
At the top of the range, we find the Grail CFR frame with its highest quality carbon to achieve maximum stiffness and efficiency while being 118 g lighter than the SLX model. A model that will be available in two assemblies, one with Shimano GRX Di2 and another with SRAM Red AXS, the latter with a Quarq power meter, priced at 6,999 € and 7,999 € respectively. Additionally, there will be a limited edition of 70 units with the GRVL DZZL design like the one used by Carolina Schiff to win the Unbound 200 priced at 10,000 €
One step below, we find the Grail CF SLX frame available in 1x or 2x configurations with Shimano GRX Di2 assemblies for 4,999 € and with SRAM Force AXS and Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels for 5,299 €
Finally, we have the Grail CF SL version, the most affordable priced at 2,699 €, equipped with SRAM Rival AXS that dispenses with the handlebar of its older sisters for a simpler one without the interface to install the aero extension.
Additionally, as we explained before, Canyon has prepared an extensive range of accessories such as the mentioned aero extension priced at 499.95 €, the specific mount for the cycle computer, 34.95 €, or the front FidLock QuickLoader loading system priced at 79.95 €, to name a few of the multiple options with which we can adapt this new Canyon Grail exactly to our needs.
