Bryton introduces its Gardia R300L rearview mirror radar light
Bryton has introduced the Gardia R300L, the Taiwanese brand's rear light that warns the cyclist of vehicles approaching from behind. The light has six lighting modes, weighs 66 grams and is priced at 119.99 euros.
Bryton Gardia R300L: a light offering double protection
Lights are one of those essential elements in terms of safety. Bryton wanted to go a little further and has given a twist to the traditional light. While its function is to make us visible to other drivers, it is also to warn us of vehicles approaching from behind.
This new product is not really a novelty, since some lights of this type such as the consolidated Garmin Varia or the Magene L508 could already be found in the market. But now Bryton is claiming its piece of the pie with the launch of its own radar light, named Gardia R300L.
RECOMENDADO
The dimensions of the device are 40x97 millimeters, it weighs 66 grams and has a viewing angle of 220º. The Gardia R300L can be adapted to 27.2 mm, 30.9 mm and 31.6 mm seatposts.
One of the most outstanding features is that the radar is capable of detecting a vehicle at a distance of 190 meters. As is usually the case with these models, the cyclocomputer will warn us of this detection with visual and audible alerts.
In addition, the radar light also functions as follows: when the Gardia R300L warns of the presence of a vehicle, it switches the light mode to a "warning light suitable for alerting vehicles coming from behind".
On the other hand, it also includes a brake light that is activated when the cyclist slows down.
A radar light with many possibilities
The Gardia R300L also incorporates an automatic mode with which the light itself changes depending on whether it is day or night. However, the brand points out that it will be necessary to have a bike computer compatible with light sensors for it to work.
In any case, all modes and the remaining battery can be controlled from the app or from a compatible cycling computer. As for battery life, according to Bryton, the charge holds 17 hours in the less bright mode and 8 hours in the more bright mode.
In order to further preserve battery life, the light will automatically dim when the battery is running low.
Finally, Bryton CEO Samuel Wang says, "This new product can make a big difference to the safety of cyclists, as it allows both cyclists and vehicles to be aware of each other's presence."
