Brembo buys Öhlins Racing and promises to bring competition innovation to stores
The prestigious Swedish suspension brand Öhlins Racing has been acquired by the Italian brake giant Brembo. The purchase was leaked months ago, but it was made official on January 2, 2025, and after that, it is expected that the transfer of products from competition to the final market will be smoother and faster.

Brembo acquires Öhlins Racing
This change in direction comes after years of restructuring at Öhlins, which since 2023 has been focusing on making the development of its suspensions for MTB more efficient, especially in the XC and DH categories.
Brembo's acquisition of Öhlins reinforces its philosophy of innovation, and the Swedish brand has already announced that this new stage will bring a greater investment in research and development.

For some years now, we have seen how Öhlins tests state-of-the-art suspension prototypes in the MTB World Cup, such as those used by Loic Bruni and Finn Iles in DH, or the entire BMC team in XC. But that technology was getting stuck in the transition to final market products. Something that could change from now on.
The transfer has been well received by Öhlins Racing, where they ensure that this represents "a new beginning for the Mountain Bike segment under Brembo's ownership."
