Brembo buys Öhlins Racing and promises to bring competition innovation to stores

The prestigious Swedish suspension brand Öhlins Racing has been acquired by the Italian brake giant Brembo. The purchase was leaked months ago, but it was made official on January 2, 2025, and after that, it is expected that the transfer of products from competition to the final market will be smoother and faster.

This change in direction comes after years of restructuring at Öhlins, which since 2023 has been focusing on making the development of its suspensions for MTB more efficient, especially in the XC and DH categories.

Brembo's acquisition of Öhlins reinforces its philosophy of innovation, and the Swedish brand has already announced that this new stage will bring a greater investment in research and development.
