Adrien Boichis (Specialized Factory Racing) confirmed that he is experiencing the best moment of his sports career by winning the Short Track in Lenzerheide after defeating Luca Martin (Cannondale Factory Racing) in an intense final duel. The Frenchman launched the decisive attack on the last lap and was able to break away with the overall leader to raise his arms without even needing to contest the sprint. Bjorn Riley (SCOTT-SRAM MTB Racing Team), a standout throughout the race, completed the podium.

Adrien Boichis strikes again in Lenzerheide and defeats Luca Martin in a high-level Short Track

The race started with a very high pace, and from the first meters, it was clear that Bjorn Riley arrived in Lenzerheide in exceptional shape.

The American from SCOTT-SRAM took the initiative right after the start, and after a brief moment of calm at the beginning of the first climb, the race began to accelerate progressively until reaching the usual intensity of modern Short Tracks.

The competition was set for ten laps, and already in the early stages, the large main group began to break apart.

At the end of the third lap, Fabio Püntener and Adrien Boichis shared the lead of the race, closely followed by Dario Lillo, Bjorn Riley, Luca Martin, Martin Vidaurre, Charlie Aldridge, and Filippo Colombo.

Among the top riders, the presence of Jofre Cullell stood out. The BH Coloma Team rider once again demonstrated the great form he is in and was riding ninth within the main group, while Simone Avondetto rounded out the provisional top 10.

One of the major points of attention was on Chris Blevins. The American was returning to competition after missing the last races due to a collarbone fracture suffered in Nové Město and soon made it clear that he was back with ambition. After starting far from the front positions, he made a spectacular comeback that allowed him to move from 21st to 12th in just two laps. But he ultimately finished in the last positions, we do not know if due to a mechanical problem or because he paid for the overexertion.

A group of nearly twenty riders before the conclusion

The race entered its decisive phase with eleven riders forming the front group and Jofre Cullell still perfectly positioned among the favorites.

However, when it seemed that the final selection had already been made, a large chasing group led by Mathis Azzaro managed to catch up with the leaders.

The union of both groups raised the number of contenders to nearly twenty riders, a situation that forced the favorites to react immediately.

It was then that Luca Martin took the responsibility to toughen the race. The overall leader increased the pace on the climbs, and the effect was immediate. The group quickly began to shrink, and numerous riders started to lose contact.

Boichis seals the deal on the last lap

When the bell for the last lap rang, only seven riders were still in contention for victory. Adrien Boichis was the first to make a move.

The Frenchman launched a devastating attack that only Luca Martin could follow. Both opened a small gap over their pursuers and began an intense head-to-head towards the finish line.

Martin tried to stay on his wheel, but the pace set by Boichis proved too high even for the World Cup leader. The Specialized rider gradually increased his lead until entering the final straight with enough margin to celebrate the victory before crossing the finish line.

Luca Martin had to settle for second place, while Bjorn Riley capped off another great performance with third place.

The victory allows Boichis to continue establishing himself as one of the major protagonists of the season and confirms the extraordinary level that Specialized Factory Racing is showing in this segment of the World Cup.
