Real "jeans" fabric bib shorts could be coming to the pro peloton
Italian cycling apparel brand Rosti, sponsor of AG2R Citroën, is launching a denim bib shorts. Will we see the French team wearing them in the 2023 season? We'll have to wait for the presentation of the team and its new kits to find this out.
Rosti makes it possible to wear your jeans also on the bike
Those of you who have been following cycling for some time will surely remember the Carrera team of the 90's, with Marco Pantani as leader, and with kits that reproduced the aesthetics of a pair of jeans. Perhaps one of the most remembered kits of that time.
However, the one in that kit was nothing more than conventional lycra bib shorts with a print that emulated a pair of jeans and not real denim.

Now, the Italian brand Rosti has just presented a denim bib shorts made of genuine denim fabric composed of 48% cotton, 22% recycled polyester and 15% elastane, a composition similar to that of any denim pants that we can wear on a daily basis.
The design of these Roster Cycling Jeans includes details such as panels that mimic pockets and are integrated into the design with points such as the small coin pockets, which feature the usual small rivets on the jeans, from which the suspenders start.
The bib shorts are scheduled to go on sale in February and will have a recommended retail price of 169 €.
In addition to the innovative material that Rosti has used in its new Roster Cycling Jeans bib shorts, this garment has attracted attention because the Italian brand is the supplier of the AG2R Citroën team, which has not yet unveiled its kit for the 2023 season. Could this bib shorts be the one chosen to dress the riders of the French team? "We'll see," is the only answer from the representatives of the Italian firm.
