Avoiding races where Pogacar competes could be Roglic's strategy
That Tadej Pogacar has the morale eaten to his rivals is something that became quite clear after his last attack to win in Il Lombardia 2024 where none of them even made an attempt to try to follow his wake. However, the only one to verbalize that frustration has been Primoz Roglic in statements he made during a cycling event in Slovenia where, half jokingly, half seriously said that "I will choose the races where Tadej is not" when asked about his calendar for 2025.
The Giro d'Italia could be Primoz Roglic's first target in 2025
After ending his season prematurely, giving up participating in Il Lombardia, which was initially on his calendar, with accumulated fatigue throughout the year as an argument, the current winner of La Vuelta, Primoz Roglic, where he took part in a charity event covering 59 kilometers in the company of 400 other fans in order to raise funds for the foundation that bears the name of the Slovenian cyclist with which he seeks to promote cycling and recruit young promises from primary education.
An event where, among many other things, journalists were interested in Primoz Roglic's plans for the 2025 season, a moment when he left the curious phrase with which we opened this article. Apart from that, according to several rumors, next year's Giro could have the incentive that several of its stages could take place on Slovenian soil.

More seriously, the questions from the local press were aimed at clarifying the rumors about Primoz Roglic's participation in the next Giro d'Italia, a race he managed to win in 2023 and to which, presumably, he will return next year. By the way, a race in which Tadej Pogacar will probably not participate to defend his pink jersey since the Slovenian had already expressed his intention to assault La Vuelta, the grand tour missing from his record and, of course, the Tour de France is non-negotiable.
In any case, it is also expected that Primoz Roglic will participate in La Vuelta in search of the 5th title that will place him as the absolute record holder of the race, so in that race we could see a Slovenian duel in the fight for the red jersey.
However, Primoz Roglic did not clarify anything and will probably start planning the new season after his vacation, when the first team concentrations begin around the beginning of December.
