Alan Hahterly wins the Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup and takes the General Classification
The XCO World Cup of Mont-Sainte-Anne started with doubts about how the World Champion Alan Hathery would manage the race. The South African had the overall classification victory well on track and could have focused on controlling the race from further back positions. None of that happened.
Hahterly took the lead of the race from the start and took advantage of a first bottleneck caused at the entrance to the forest to make a first change of pace with which he went solo.

From that moment the rainbow jersey wearer showed himself very solid leading the race with an iron hand. The excitement was then felt behind him. Frenchman Mathis Azzaro, first accompanied by Victor Koretzky and then alone, launched an exciting pursuit trying by all means to catch up with Hatherly. Something that happened at the beginning of lap 6.
Azzaro caught up with Hatherly in lap 6 and from there a new game began that the World Champion took care of finishing in a few meters.
With 1 and a half laps to go, Alan Hatherly changed pace again and this time it was definitive. Once again he went solo and this time, he did it all the way to the finish line.
Alan Hatherly won the XCO World Cup Mont-Sainte-Anne. Mathis Azzaro came in second, marking his best position in the World Cup, and the podium was closed by Victor Koretzky in a sprint with Avondetto.
With this victory, Alan Hahterly also achieved his first victory in the General Classification of the World Cup. A title that closes a perfect season in which he won the XCO World Championship, was an Olympic medalist, won 2 World Cup races, and the General Classification.
