Pogacar will seek the rainbow jersey
This stage will host the best cyclists from the international peloton, including Tadej Pogacar, Remco Evenepoel, Wout van Aert and the current world champion, Mathieu van der Poel, who will try to defend his title. The three-time Tour de France winner, Tadej Pogacar, has already stated that the rainbow jersey is one of his goals for the end of this great season. The Slovenian would thus close an incredible season, with the Giro d'Italia and the French tour.
The men's road race is scheduled for Sunday, September 29 and is set to be one of the most demanding in recent years, with a route of 273.9 kilometers and a total elevation gain of 4,470 meters. This profile is ideal for climbers, but will also provide opportunities for classics specialists like Van der Poel or Van Aert.
