Although still relatively unknown in Spain, Rivian (the American brand that competes with Tesla in the field of electric vehicles) will land in our country in 2026, and everything points to it making a big impact. Founded in 2009 and known for its electric pick-ups and SUVs, Rivian has grown with a clear philosophy: combining technology, sustainability, and adventure. Now, they take it a step further by introducing their first eBike, a machine that carries the brand's DNA to two wheels.

Also: the new eBike brand from Rivian

The cycling project is born under the name of Also, a new micromobility division powered by Rivian with the aim of developing small high-performance electric vehicles. Their first creation is the TM-B (Transcendent Mobility - Bike), an electric bicycle that challenges traditional categories: it's not a mountain bike, but it's not a conventional urban bike either.

With 24" x 2.6" wheels, 120 mm dual suspension (front and rear), and a very distinctive aesthetic, the TM-B combines elements of an eMTB with a modular design that allows it to be configured as a cargo bike, urban bike, or recreational model, without the need for tools.

DreamRide "pedal-by-wire" transmission: pedaling a generator, not the wheel

The heart of the TM-B is its DreamRide system, developed internally by Also. Instead of a traditional mechanical transmission, the cyclist pedals a generator that powers the battery, while an independent electric motor drives the rear wheel through a Gates Carbon belt. This "pedal-by-wire" system offers a completely digital experience, with configurable pedaling sensation and modes that simulate up to 10 virtual gears.

The system delivers 180 Nm of torque, an impressive figure even by electric MTB standards, with a maximum assistance of up to 10 times the cyclist's power and an assisted speed of 45 km/h (Class 3). Additionally, it integrates regenerative braking capable of increasing autonomy by up to 25%.

The TM-B will be available with two removable battery sizes: 538 Wh (Standard) or 808 Wh (Large). Both offer a range of up to 100 miles (160 km) and can be recharged from 0 to 100% in about 2-3.5 hours using a 240 W USB-C connection. The batteries include two additional USB-C ports, allowing them to be used as a portable power bank for other devices, which is uncommon in eBikes.

On the handlebars, a 5" circular touch screen manages driving modes, electronic frame lock, and quick access to connectivity functions.

Next-generation suspension, safety, and connectivity

The frame is made of magnesium alloys, seeking a balance between rigidity and lightness. The suspensions, inverted fork at the front and air shock at the rear, have been tuned to offer comfort and progressiveness, with behavior similar to a modern MTB.

The TM-B integrates an advanced digital security system that automatically locks the battery, wheel, and frame when the cyclist moves away. The entire system is managed from the Connect+ app, with geolocation, tampering alerts, and remote functions.

Alongside the TM-B, Also has introduced the Alpha Wave helmet, with integrated lights, audio with four speakers, noise-canceling microphones, and the RLS (Release Layer System), a protective layer that reduces rotational impact energy. The helmet syncs directly with the bike to control calls, music, and navigation from the handlebars.

The brand has also announced the TM-Q, a four-wheeled version with pedal assistance designed for urban transport or city delivery, which can be used on bike lanes.

Price and availability of the Rivian Also eBike Transcendent Mobility

The Rivian Also TM-B can be reserved now on the official website ridealso.com at a launch price of $4,500 (about €4,200), with the first deliveries expected in spring 2026. There will also be a base version starting at $4,000, scheduled for the end of the same year.

With this bike, Rivian makes a grand entrance into the world of eBikes with a proposal that combines design, power, and technology in a completely new format. If their cars promise to revolutionize electric mobility, their first bicycle could do the same on two wheels.
