One of the great features of the new Thule EasyFold 3 for 2-ebikes is its foldable design. When not in use, it becomes a sturdy suitcase with an integrated handle that you can easily store in the trunk or at home. But the best part is that it doesn't sacrifice strength or load capacity for being foldable.

Unfolding the EasyFold is easy and quick. Everything fits together, everything rotates solidly, and there's nothing that sounds fragile. The ball attachment system is simple: lower the lever, adjust with the pressure wheel, and it's completely secured.

Once mounted, it gives that feeling of stability that one expects when carrying two bikes weighing more than 20 kg each.

The materials, as is usual with Thule, are top-notch: aluminum, well-finished hard plastics, and mechanisms that inspire confidence. Nothing creaks, nothing moves more than it should.

Two e-bikes without blinking an eye

Each rail supports up to 30 kg of weight, making it a very reliable option for electric bikes. During the test, we mounted two complete e-bikes — one of them with an integrated battery and a heavy frame — and there were no vibrations, no play, no feeling of "this isn't secure."

The rails are wide, and the ratcheting straps securely hold the wheels in place quickly. The securing arms can be placed wherever is most convenient for you and lock with a key, ensuring everything is well secured and safe. The distance between rails prevents the bikes from touching each other.

Trunk access without removing anything

A common concern with this type of bike rack is whether it allows you to open the trunk without removing the bikes: in this case, the answer is yes. It has a pedal that allows you to tilt the entire assembly with the loaded bikes, and the system is smooth and secure. We did it several times, and the car's tailgate opened without touching the bike rack at any point.

Transport and storage: doesn't take up space, doesn't bother

As mentioned earlier, once folded, you can move it with its trolley-style handle. It weighs just under 18 kg, but it's easy to handle, and you can store it in a corner of the garage or in the trunk without taking up too much space.

Areas for improvement (because nothing is perfect)

• The price of €969.70 may be too high for occasional users

• Although it folds well, it still takes up some space. It's not meant to be kept in the car all the time if you have limited trunk space or a small car.

• For bikes with very large geometries (like XL enduro), you may need to adjust the securing arms with a bit more finesse.

When something is well-made, it shows

The Thule EasyFold 3 2-bike is one of those accessories that doesn't make noise but solves a real problem for those of us who love cycling and enjoy discovering routes in different geographical areas or simply travel with them to compete. If you travel with e-bikes or heavy bikes and want a comfortable, reliable, and durable system, this bike rack deserves to be on your radar.
