We tested the Syncros Speed iS Direct Mount 200 saddle bag: discretion, firmness, and perfect fit on your Scott
When we talk about saddle bags, most cyclists look for something simple: that it doesn't move, that it doesn't bother, and that it goes unnoticed. But not all bags meet these three requirements, especially when the terrain becomes uneven. At Brujulabike we have tested the Syncros Speed iS Direct Mount 200, a minimalist and solid bag, designed specifically to be directly anchored to compatible saddles. Is it worth it? Here we tell you.
Syncros Speed iS Direct Mount 200: right size, clear functionality
The first thing that catches the eye about this bag is what it doesn't have: straps. Instead of the classic velcro that surrounds the saddle rails or seatpost, this Syncros is anchored by two screws directly to the base of some Syncros saddles, like those that come standard on the Scott Addict Gravel. The result is a firm, clean, and perfectly integrated attachment.

During our rides, even on rough tracks and paths with a lot of vibration, the bag didn't move a millimeter. No bouncing or noise. And that, when you're riding a gravel bike with 40 or 45 mm wheels, is appreciated.
With a volume of 200 ml, this bag is designed for the essentials. In our case, we were able to perfectly carry a spare gravel tube (700x40), a pair of tire levers, and a small multitool. There's no extra space, but there's no shortage either. If you know what you need, you'll have everything there, well protected and without moving.
Access is via a Velcro fastener that responds well even with gloves. The fabric is water-resistant and has a good feel, although it doesn't quite make it a 100% waterproof bag. If you're expecting a day of mud and rain, you might want to add an inner bag or a zip bag.
The key to this bag is its direct mounting. If you have a compatible saddle, like the ones that come on many mid-range and high-end Scott bikes, the mounting doesn't require complex tools: two screws, snap in, and you're done. The system is so discreet that you'll hardly notice you're carrying a bag. Visually, it looks perfect on bikes with a clean and minimalist aesthetic, like the Addict Gravel, where every accessory matters.
However, if you don't have a compatible saddle, this bag is not for you. There is no option to use it with velcro or universal adapters. It is intended for those who already have Syncros saddles with the Direct Mount anchoring system.
The Syncros Speed iS Direct Mount 200 is one of those solutions that goes unnoticed because it simply works. It doesn't move, it doesn't bother, it doesn't hang, it doesn't vibrate. It's there for the essentials, and it does it well. If your bike is compatible with this type of mounting, and your approach is minimalist, there aren't many alternatives as clean and solid as this one.
