This is the most repeated cycling route on Strava this year
For the 12th consecutive year, the Year in Sport: Trend Report arrives, where the Strava platform aims to capture a snapshot of sports activity worldwide thanks to data obtained from activities uploaded to the application as well as a survey among more than 30,000 people, both users and non-users of Strava. Here are the most relevant aspects revealed by the report.

Strava publishes its annual report Year in Sport: Trend Report
The analysis of millions of activities uploaded to Strava allows this platform to have an enormous amount of data that helps discern the sports habits of the entire world, with all the uses that different actors can give to such information. This information has been complemented by a survey conducted among 30,000 people.
One of the first interesting data points extracted from this report is how young people from the so-called Generation Z are putting their phones aside and now dedicating more time to sports activity. The data is clear: for every 2 minutes they spend checking the Strava app, they dedicate 1 hour to sports activity.

A Strava mobile application that continues to be the main source of activities for the platform; in fact, 72% of users use their own mobile and the app to record their activities. Of the remaining 28%, Garmin devices still take the lead, a huge volume of data that explains why Strava had to backtrack a few months ago in its war against the GPS device manufacturer.
If we focus on cycling, it is also possible to determine users' preferences regarding equipment. In both MTB and Gravel, Specialized bikes rank number 1 among those used in activities recorded on Strava. In both disciplines, it is followed by Trek, a brand that holds the lead in road cycling, a category in which it exchanges its position with the Morgan Hill brand. In both MTB and road cycling, the third tier of bikes used by Strava users is occupied by Giant, while in gravel, Scott takes this place.

Another piece of data that those who read the Year in Sport: Trend Report typically look for is the most trafficked segments in the world. An honorary leadership that for many years was found on the island of Mallorca, such as the flat stretch along the beach leading to the town of Pollença or the iconic climb of Sa Calobra.
However, the trend has changed. Now, if you want to pass through the most trafficked Strava segment in the world, you will need to travel to the capital of Colombia. On the outskirts of Bogotá is the segment called Mi Segmento: from the redomita to Patios, a gentle ascent, with an average slope of just 5.8%, although it is hard enough and long enough, 5.5 km, to be a perfect setting for fierce battles among local cycling groups.

The second most traveled segment is located in São Paulo, Brazil, and is called Hebraica-Rebouças x Cidade Jardim, while the third shows the rise of urban cycling in the city of London as it corresponds to the Bridge Sprint segment, which runs through one of the most used bike lanes in the English capital.
Aside from this global report, starting on December 8, Strava will begin sending its users a personalized report via email with an analysis of the activities performed by each of them throughout 2025.
