Thibau Nys, leader of the Cyclocross World Cup, will not be in Terralba
Just a year ago, the intense storm of rain and wind forced the cancellation of the scheduled race in the town of Cabras in Sardinia. Now, Terralba takes over, very close to Cabras and also with a circuit located by the Mediterranean Sea.

Terralba World Cup CX Schedule
Sunday, December 7
- 13:40 – Women's Elite
- 15:00 – Men's Elite
Absences mark the third World Cup race. Favorites for victory in Terralba
If in previous races we mentioned that the CX World Cup was uncertain, with a wide range of favorites, it has taken just a couple of races for Thibau Nys to emerge as the clear dominator of the event, winning the first two World Cup CX races in different but equally clear ways.
In the first, it was a crushing victory, dominating from start to finish, while in the second, he let others take the lead, staying in the shadows until the chosen moment to launch a powerful attack and create a gap that none of his rivals could close. However, there will not be a third consecutive race as the Belgian cyclist has decided to take a short break and will skip this event. The reason is to recover strength and do some specific training to face the important Christmas races in top form.

Lars van der Haar, a teammate of the Belgian who last Sunday acted as a perfect lieutenant, firmly controlling a phenomenal Cameron Mason, who will also be absent from the Sardinian race, will not be at the start in Terralba.
With so many cyclists absent, Laurens Sweeck gains a lot of ground to return to the path of victory in the World Cup after two races in which he has returned to his level. However, he will have to face another stone-crushing machine, namely the tremendously consistent Joris Nieuwenhuis, who has had a remarkably steady season, always lurking for victory, although he has achieved fewer wins than he deserves so far this season.

Of course, we also cannot forget Pim Ronhaar or Toon Aerts, also regulars in the leading group, who will surely try to break the race in the early moments to tip the balance in their favor in the final part.
For the second consecutive race, Felipe Orts will be absent, focusing over these two weeks on his training to reach his peak form for the Christmas races, which are always more visually appealing for spectators and, in turn, the biggest source of income for cyclocross riders. None of the other usual Spaniards in the World Cup CX races, such as Kevin Suárez, will be present either.
How to watch the Terralba World Cup CX race
The overlap with winter sports broadcasts once again affects the transmission of the Cyclocross World Cup for the second consecutive weekend. Those who wish to follow the race through Eurosport will only be able to do so if they have subscribed to the HBO-Max platform.
Fortunately, this season we have the option to follow the race broadcast through RTVE thanks to the RTVE Play web platform, and depending on the programming, it may also be possible on the Teledeporte channel.
